keeping the build up to UFC 84 rolling along, let's look at the 2nd biggest fight on the card.
    Wand vs Keith

This is a fight that has me torn.
I love the UFC and I loved Pride, I enjoyed them both for different reasons. I'd like to see Wand do well, but Jardine is fun to watch too.

I thought Jardine just looked and acted like a fighter when I saw him on TUF and I thought he'd end up winning the whole show.
Instead he's continued to improve and I wouldn't count him out of any fight.
He also looks like he can get caught, like in the Alexander fight, any time too.

Wand has a lot of mileage on him, I hope the change in training camps has been helpful for him and the fact the he won't be in any freak show fights in the UFC should be a bonus too.

If Wands wins, chances are he'll stay at 205. If he loses most certainly he'll drop to 185, which I'd love to see.

arrrrgh, tough call, like the BJ vs Sherk fight, I want to see an exciting back and forth fight so the neither fighter dominates.

with a gun to my head, I'd pick Wand

Wand has been in some wars and Keith deserves a title shot (he beat Chuck and Forrest...but I think that loss to Houston really hurt him with Houston looking like a fluke now). I'm pulling for Wand in this one. It should be a war. Wand TKO Rd 2

Wanderlei is about one more fight away from returning to Japan after he loses this one.

No one can convince me that Jardine deserves a title shot...with that being said Im rooting for Silva to slow down the Dean of Mean.

I say Wanderlei Silva overwhelms Jardine early, ends up catching him with a nice knockout shot.

Yea, I also never want to see the Dean of Mean get a title shot, I want to see Wandy win.

I've been a fan of Wand forever. After three defeats in a row, I believe he's hungrier than ever! Wand with the KO!

    hoping for Wand.

After watching Jardine take out chuck I am worried. He is real big and will be difficult for Silva to get close to.

Do you really think Chuck was on his game that night against Jardine, though? He just looked out of it...like he didn't take Jardine seriously. I don't know if Keith could beat him again. Chuck is adamant about getting a rematch with Keith.

Before I answer this; I want to make it clear I don't like Jardine as a fighter. I find him boring, and is too conservative against good fighters.

But he fights smart. He used is leg kicks and length intelligently against chuck and forrest. He paralyzed chuck. Chuck couldn't get anything going against him. I think it will be MUCH easier to execute the same game plan against a much smaller Silva.

    I hope I am wrong.

I dunno, Silva is more explosive early on than Chuck. I think if Silva plays slow and just trade, it probably will be Jardine's game, however I think he can overwhelm Jardine early on, also maybe some ground game too.

Silva's gameplan is to destroy his opponent by overwhelming him with strikes and cardio. He'll keep the pressure on all 3 rounds. Everyone knows it. Silva will take hits and keep coming. If he loses its off the scorecard not from a KO.

I still believe he'll be so explosive Jardine won't know what to think of it until its too damn late.

yeah Wand is explosive and tries to overwhelm you, but he couldn't get close to Chuck due to Chuck's use of his strikes to keep him at distance, there's a chance Jardine will use his kicks to do the same.. Wand just has to wade in there and clinch IMO.
