u would rather take tayshaun and antonio over RJ, boone and 10 pick? ummmm u sure ur a nugget fan? and to comment on the other post... id deft take beasley over melo for the simple fact that we can keep harris, carter, rj, together, and to add beasley to that trio would make us competitive... -also i dont think vince minds sharing the shots with melo, vince is such a nice guy that he doesnt even wanna be the star of the team... he wants to always be ROBIN... not BATMAN... hes talented enough to be a batman but he wants to always be ROBIN... or even a Alfred in that aspect -hey u guys keep arguing bout melo coming to the nets but we have bigger issues... --what number is he goin to wear if he does become a net? not 15... thats robins number heheh

Denver gets: Tayshaun Prince, Antonio McDyess New Jersey gets: Carmelo Anthony Detroit gets: Richard Jefferson, Josh Boone, #10 pick in this years draft. seriously. denver should do this. way better than the straight up NJ deal</div> This trade sounds silly. No way Detroit takes RJ over Prince. Dumars is not a stupid.

I think the Nuggets would be incredibly solid with Mcdyss and Prince. it would balance the team out pretty well offensively and defensively. RJ is overrated, and idk about Boone yet. The Nuggets are in a win now phase and taking an undeveloped post player and a pick wouldn't be in their best interests.
Why would u guys be in a win mode situation? u have kleza, JR, and AI... and i dont even think prince and mcdyess would even get u guys better in the west... no offense off course... look at this ai, jr, prince, mcdyess, and whos at C? u think that can match up vs chris paul and the hornets? deron and the jazz? kobe and the lakers? even the spurs have a couple more years... heh and i really think portland is up and coming... i expect them to make the playoffs next season... and dont count out golden state if they can resign thier FA esp monte. then u have the rockets... with yao coming back, i think phoenix is on the decline (MARION trade killed em), i dont expect dallas to sit pretty where they are...(with cuban willing to do anythin for a ring)...
id love to have JR... besides the fact that hes an NJ product i think from newark... he for one can actually hit an open 3 pointer... something we lack... *cough* nachbar *cough* im not sayin jr is a spot up shooter but hes deft better than what we have... id prefer to go after a mike miller type and i hear mike might be available sooo id go for that!
this reeks of an NBA LIVE fantasy trade. Carmelo and Camby for RJ, Williams, an expiring contract, and a #10 pick?!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Bergen Record, citing NBA sources, is reporting that if the Nets New Jersey Nets get lucky in Tuesday's NBA Draft Lottery they could package the pick in a deal that would land the Nuggets Carmelo Anthony.</div> Dumbest thing I've read today. If the Nets get lucky in the draft lottery, they're taking either Rose or Beasley and not looking back.

Forgetting all three team scenarios, here's why the Nuggets might do it... They would save around $40 million. Melo is owed $66 million on his deal, Marcus Camby $22 million. They would also take on the responsibility of paying the #10 pick two years guaranteed salary...or around $5 million...for a net loss in payroll of $83 million. RJ is owed $42 million, KVH is owed probably no more than $500,000 and Marcus Williams $1.26 million. (One can assume they would want to keep him, but people assumed the Wolves would extend Gerald Green too.) Nets would give up around $44 million. Of all the great 2003 picks, only Melo opted for a full length deal. Lebron, Dwade and Bosh all have contracts that could be up by 2010. Melo's contract is thus more attractive than the others. You aren't going to lose him in two years. He is also the second youngest of the four great picks that draft. He turns 24 next week. Lebron turns 24 in December. Bosh turned 24 two months ago. Wade is 26.
