What you are saying makes no sense. Fans relate to JJ Redick more than Hedo Turkoglu because one won the Naismith and the other is from a far away country with little basketball visibility?

Think about what your saying and the point I'm trying to make. Turkoglu didn't really make a strong name for himself until 6 years after he was drafted. Redick was more well known coming out of college then Turk was coming in. How well known was Turkoglu coming in? And he was a #16 pick...Gallinari is a projected top 10 and how many people know him...they probably couldn't tell you who he played for. I'm not talking about who's better, I'm talking about the fans not having time to "warm-up" to players...in order to pull in fans as soon as they move to Brooklynn they need people on they teams they've heard of and are willing to buy tickets to see. You seen how quick the fans turn in NY.
Funny Turkoglu is mentioned - I remember one Nets game where 500+ Turkey fans showed up, and acted like a soccer crowd. They were waiving flags, chanting "Hidayet! Hidayet!", etc. Soon the Nets fans were getting pissed off, and cheered WAY too loudly whenever Turk missed a shot or turned the ball over. The Nets ended up running the Kings off the court, and the crowd was chanting "USA! USA!" So...uh...I guess that helps Ghoti's point?
You already made a comment about "surrounding Lebron". If Lebron is on the team, it doesn't matter who surrounds him as far as ticket sales are concerned.

I have no idea what point you are trying to make, NNNM, so it's hard to argue. Is it that DeAndre Jordan will bring more fans out to BK in 2012 than Gallinari?

But I see where this is going and it seems like no one is ever open to other views. I'm not saying anyone is right or wrong, but everyone seems hell bent on making it one way or another....these are opinions...everyone has thier favorite flavor of Kool-aid...it doesn't make mine any better than the next
I guess I want to know why anyone thinks fans in Brooklyn "don't know" or "can't relate to" a team with Bargnani, Gallinari, Boki and Krstic.
All I can say is, Please God, not Bargnani. This guy is horrible. No heart, doesn't play D, takes bad shots, poor attitude. Why do we want the biggest lottery bust since Olowakandi? They are trying to get rid of him for a reason. Just because they might not have to give much back doesn't make it a good trade. Stay away from that stiff. I'd rather have Nick Fazekas from the Clips than Bargani, seriously. Barbosa would be sweet, but where was his game in the playoffs? He was awful.

Who knows how Bargs will turn out, but Barbosa is definitely undervalued right now, especially the way Kerr is cleaning house.
My 2 cents: Barbosa absolutley yes. Melo yes, even more so if it means Camby. Bargnani depending on what we give up. Diaw no.
Jesus Christ Andrea?! No, I prefer to stay away from him. The last thing the Nets need on their team is a soft jump shooting big man; that has yet to show much promise. Barbosa, I like, but Diaw on the other hand isn't making me smile.
I'm not sure about Bargnani. His value is probably at an all time low right now, and he still does have plenty of potential... But he makes close to $5M for 2 seasons. It may be a little too risky to take him, simply because of the salary. This is how I see it: if NJ makes a trade for a REAL big man (Brand), then get Bargnani. If they don't make a trade or trade for Melo, don't get Bargnani.
As much as i'm not thrilled about Diaw, he and Andrea are really nice passers and playmakers. Sure they both have their faults but they would do really nice things in and to our offense because of that dimension alone. These kind of moves would also help take some of the pressure off of our guards to help keep from running them down over the season. Players like Andrea take time to develop, even if he's the number one pick, and I can only imagine Sam Mitchell is doing more harm to him than good when it comes to seeing growth from him so i'd prefer him over Diaw. As much as Frank is a defensive coach either player would open up the offensive end of the floor so much we could live with any flaws they have. The major questions to both would be how we were to use them. Acquiring Bargnani or Diaw would take a concerted effort by the coaching staff to start creating mismatches instead of fitting those guys in to try and match up with other teams. Truthfully my concerns behind these players lie more in the coaching staffs use of them than the actual players themselves. I know Frank isn't Don Nelson but the only real notable 'experiment' we've seen the past couple years has been a Williams/Kidd(now Harris) back court.

I dont know if that means Krstic is gone or that Krstic agrees to a low ball offer. Can they play together? I dont really know.
I like Bargnani, but I wouldn't give up to much for him. Barbosa is nice too. I don't like Diaw though.
