You know what's absolutely incredible? Philadelphia's financial situation. I didn't pay attention, but there's a damn good reason that Stefanski went there. Starting this off-season, Philly will have the lowest amount of guaranteed salaries at $34.6M. More than that, it's not that they have a lot of expiring contracts this year, but these players are not a part of their current group which reached the playoffs! -They will have Chris Webber's $19M salary coming off the books -Aaron McKie's $7M salary -Kevin Ollie's $3.5M salary -Giricek has a $4M expiring salary, although they may resign him. Considering that they wont lose any player in their core and still have ~$35M in guaranteed salaries, Philly has the financial flexibility to either straight out sign someone who opts out, or they can package expiring contracts in a deal. This team can be scary good next year.
i kno they have all that but they need to resign AI first... didnt andre decline an extension early last off season? like almost a 60 mill deal and he turned down... he wants to be overpaid... heh for somebody that didnt show up in the playoffs against the pistons he should take the 60 mill deal
Everyone is saying that guys will want to go to Philly but I think our division is going to be a tough one to be in. I really hope they do not get anyone big.
Yea, they need to re-sign iguodola, which will eat cap space, and then will go after either brand or josh smith if they opt out...Igudola isn't gonna play for the qualifiying offer, so that 35 million dollar number is wrong. It'll be about 45-50 million, so they enough cap space for a big contract...
