Speights is a guy I've become interested with at 21, with Westbrook at 10. While I'm glad to finally see some footage of him (my previous research had just been written), everyone looks good running unopposed drills.
My problem with Speights is he seems dis-interested from going down low at times and settles for jumpshots. He needs to show some intensity or something. He's worthy @ 21, but not 10.
With reports about Love's workouts and how he's dropped 13 pounds of fat (and counting) while adding some muscle and improving his quickness and leaping ability (he certainly looked more mobile in the ESPN.com workout clips I saw), if the Nets are going to go big at 10 and if Love is still on the board, he should be the choice, IMO, hands down. As long as he can move well enough to do a creditable job guarding 4s, he's a player that could obviously have an impact right away. Very, very versatile, and his rebounding and laser outlet passing would go a long way to making the Nets the up-tempo team that Frank seems to want. If the Nets go wing or small at 10 (say if Galinari drops), then I would feel good about Speights at 21 (or Jason Thompson).

And I like Love as a player, but I'm no so sure if he'll fit in on the Nets. Like you said we are an up tempo team and Love is an amazing outlet passer. But what happens when Love doesn't get the rebound? I can't see him running the floor.

In the half-court set Love brings inside scoring and a good perimeter shot.
i'd love to get love. he brings something that boone, sean, swift, diop...all dont have, an offensive skill set. you can actually run plays for him and he is such a good passer from the high and low post, that he'll ge tvc and devin good looks and he knows how to be crafty around the basket without having to rely on a PG to get him looks. he's also a great rebounder and shooter. love wil be better then brook lopez.

Jizzy nailed it. 100% agreed. Great job jizzman.
I would much much rather take Randolph than Love. That's just me... He (love) looks like a softie to me. I dont know why.
