No Playoffs? No sweat! You know your team has been successful in recent years, when you stopped counting how many times in a row you got to the holy land, the NBA Playoffs. Sure, the diehard fans can tell you when New Jersey Nets last missed the playoffs. This season has turned out to be one big rollercoaster journey. Even though the Nets will be watching the playoffs at home on their televisions, the season is somewhat of a success. First of all, the Jason Kidd drama is over. Well, for the most part, that is. Once in a while, some guy might look at a cheap shot – but hey, that’s fine, as long as it isn’t the missy who gets knocked down. That’s part of the business. Not only are children allowed in the locker room again, without being scared for life due to cursing that shouldn’t even be on the internet. That’s pretty much how bad the locker room was, according to some sources. But we turned a 35 year old without dedication into a promising young point guard, faster than the mouth of Gary Payton. With the new look at the point guard position, it is evident that the Nets is one for the future. The thing is, that even though the Nets are young and looking at the future, they can still play ball, unlike some guys in some Garden… Lets have a look at the roster, and how they performed this season, and how the future looks for the given player. The Season grade is based on expectations. The potential grade is based on how the player can be, compared to rest of the NBA players at his position, throughout his career. Rookie Sean Williams proved his critics wrong early on, and still shows great potential. He is far from a finished product, heck, we’re talking about an Alpha release rather than a Beta – so the downs are easily equaled by the ups from this young freak of nature. Season grade: B Potential grade: B+ Josh Boone looked lost at times last season. This season he turned into a legit starter and a potential double double guy. Not bad for a second year guy drafted in the 20’s. Josh Boone looks as sexy as a six foot long Tuna fish on the court at times, but he gets the job done. It might not be pretty and flashy as Dwight Howard, but hey – less can do it for me. Season grade: A- Potential grade: B- Marcus Williams was hampered by his early surgery. He continues to show promise, only to fade away in the next couple of games. Marcus Williams could turn out to be a great point guard, but he seems to lack the mental attributes that the great point guards have. The talent is there, but where’s the passion? Potential Grade B? wtf???</div> I just don't see Marcus getting near the Paul, Deron (The A+) or Harris (A-). He has some of the tools, like passing/vision, but he lacks the mentality.
