    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Will Raptors Make A Blockbuster Trade?

No one from the Raptors was talking in specifics yesterday, but the chance to move either T.J. Ford or Jose Calderon could net someone like power forward Udonis Haslem in some kind of package deal.

And with the way GM Bryan Colangelo likes to think, there's even a likelihood he'll ask about the availability of the No.2 pick in some kind of blockbuster trade.

There is no doubt teams covet Calderon, a restricted free agent, in some kind of sign-and-trade transaction and there's also no doubt the Raptors have fielded several calls about him. And Ford, according to league sources, has plenty of marketability around the league as teams see him as a starter with a manageable contract that pays him slightly more than $8 million a season for the next three.</div>

    Toronto Star

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Given the Raptors' shortcomings at small forward, it's not surprising they've been mentioned as a possible destination for Richard Jefferson, the New Jersey Nets' slasher who may be on the market as the Nets try to get out from under the weight of big contracts owed to their current backcourt of Jefferson, Vince Carter and newly acquired Devin Harris.
Raptors forward Andrea Bargnani has been linked to the Nets, but league sources labelled a possible move as speculative at best.</div>

If we're talking to the Heat, it would be about Shawn Marion, no? Like, Rasho + Ford and the 17th for Marion?

Udonis Haslem is a good role player but why sacrifice a great point guard for a good big man?

We can do better than Udonis. I still think the Jefferson rumours our media/fan speculation more than anything substantial.

I found that interesting. And it makes sense when you think about it. Even though we're all down on TJ, he's arguably the best PG that everyone knows can be had (until/unless the Bulls pick Rose and start shopping Hinrich). We could still net something decent for him.

Trading small for big is rarely done.

I remember when the Raptors traded Villanueva for TJ, there was an outcry over the fact that they were trading big for small. I honestly don't understand what the big deal is. I think point guard can be the hardest position in the league to fill but also the rewarding once it has been filled. Watching the Raptors before and after TJ-Jose has made that especially clear.

I don't see why we would need another 4, we have a log jam in that position. What we need is a good 3.

Moon is a 3 not a 4, and haslem is a legit 4 that can score and hustles. Yes i agree raps need a 3 which is y i said a deal for Marion wud b amazing.

And yes a championship is an exaggeration but Marion us legit and explosive wud b a huge help for bosh.

As for VC a raptor will never happen so im not gonna get upset wit that.

i would love to get VC back on the Raps ... it would give us 41 chances a year to boo him off the court.

...And what? Bosh will play center or Haslem will come off the bench? Doesn't seem likely. If anything we should trade for a 5 or a 3.

We can't get Marion. We don't have enough to pay him and I don't think I can watch him 82 games a year shooting the way he does.
