Heat president Pat Riley created a buzz after Tuesday night's draft lottery when he strongly suggested Miami would trade the pick if the right deal came along. At least five lottery teams picking behind the Heat -- including Seattle, Memphis, New York, New Jersey and Sacramento -- would have interest in acquiring Beasley if the Heat is serious about making a potential draft-day trade. . . . New Jersey is expected to be one of the more active teams this offseason as new general manager Kiki Vandeweghe looks to retool the roster after Jason Kidd's departure. ''I like that pick,'' Vandeweghe said of the Heat's draft position. ``It's obviously looked at that this is a two-person draft, that the draft really starts after that second pick or whatever. At that point, you can sit back and look at options..'' Riley would not say what the Heat would expect in return should it part with the No. 2 pick. But it likely would require the combination of the Heat swapping selections with a team that chooses later in the lottery -- but likely within the top 10 -- and adding a proven veteran at point guard or center. LOOKING FOR PARTNER? It might also take a trading partner willing to take on the two seasons and $15.2 million remaining on center Mark Blount's contract or the three seasons and $13.2 million left on guard Marcus Banks' deal. http://www.miamiherald.com/594/story/542123.html I think they're just exploring options at this point. It doesn't seem like the Nets are a good trade partner for the heat, given their assets and the Heat's needs.
Yeah, can't really see the Nets and Miami making a deal...would have been awesome to have Beasley, but beggers can't be choosers. So, let's assume us and Miami do make a deal (not going to happen) , what would we give them?
Yeah, something like Banks, Blount, the #2 pick for Jefferson, the #10 and #21 picks. It works under the CBA, by the way. You could even add Marcus. RJ becomes a second option after Wade. Nets get a defensive oriented backup PG, a center who sucks, and Michael Beasley. Problem is what happens if Bulls take Beasley. You wind up with Rose, Harris, Banks.

Haha....there's no way they're going to trade a talented big man AND Rose/Beasley for Devin Harris, who's a good player but who both picks will probably surpass eventually, and a #10 pick. C'mon, they're not that dumb. It would take at least RJ, #10+fillers for the pick and Banks/Blount, though that isn't too bad a trade for us.

Taking those 2 contracts off Miami's hands allows them to add RJ and keep their cap space and use it more effectively. Way worth it for Miami if they are in win now mode. Not saying Miami should do it, but the exchange of values in the deal isn't that crazy.
I'd say something the lines of: Stromile Swift Marcus Williams Nenad Krstic Josh Boone 10th pick 40th pick for Mark Blount Marcus Banks 2nd pick 52nd pick Miami has seen what Krstic can do in the playoffs and they also get Josh Boone who makes Haslem tradable if they would like. An expiring in Stromile and youth in Marcus Williams. The 10th pick also gives them some good young talent as well. PG - Jason Williams SG - Dwyane Wade SF - Shawn Marion PF - Udonis Haslem C - Nenad Krstic With the bench having Boone, Marcus and other FA pickups along with the rookie they take at ten.

The Nets don't have a "middle" package that would get the deal done, we have to blow them out of the park to get this done.
