After that, we hear the Bulls, whose GM wasn't even watching the lottery when it delivered the No. 1 pick despite a 1.7 percent chance to land it, already have hatched up an agreement to take Beasley and leave the Heat with Rose. So I guess somewhere between blowing off the lottery and blowing up his shot at a once-in-a-generation point guard, John Paxson hatched this contingency plan over, eh, breakfast? And now, there's the ESPN report that links the Heat's No. 2 pick to O.J. Mayo, with Riley suddenly so enamored with the controversial guard from Southern Cal that he's willing to bypass Beasley if both were on the board when the Heat makes its selection. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- link: http://blogs.herald.com/miami_heat/2008/05...matters-an.html As much as I'm starting the like the idea Mayo in Minny...but Beasley down low with Big Al....niiiiiice One can dream, right?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Shapecity @ May 25 2008, 02:13 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I can't imagine OJ Mayo going #2 overall especially since the Heat have Dwayne Wade already.</div> Maybe they plan on having them both play a semi-PG roll? Or as insurance for Wade if he doesn't stay healty or if he bolts as a free-agent...It would ensure they keep a superstar personality in a Heat's uniform (which Beasley is as well, but Beasley and Marion makes things crowded as well). If this the cases maybe my idea of a trade with Minnesota might come to light. Maybe Miami picks Beasley, Minnesota picks Mayo and they swap draft rights along with Minnesota giving back Miami's 1st Rounder for next year and maybe even thier 2nd rounder
It wouldn't even be fair if the Wolves take Beasley, their talent will be ridiculous, Telfair, Foye, Beasley, Jefferson? Or put Brewer at SF and Beasley at PF, and Big Al at C, that future will be ridiculous, even though I wouldn't think Beasley & Big Al will work down low together because they will both need the ball, I think Lopez will be a way better pick and a better fit, or maybe even Love?

Beasley is a better rebounder, which is what Minnesota needs next to help Big Al. The only advantage of having Lopez over Beasley is that with Lopez Big Al can shift back to PF, but that isn't enough to off set the advantages of having Beasley, not to mention the tickets sales and butts in the seats that Beasley will bring to Minnesota

Or Brewer and thier two 2nd Rounders to move in and scoop up Robin Lopez....I like that guy...but his stock is rising as of late. I think Minnesota has some chances to make more trades than people give em credit for. They have a large exp. contract (Walker-9mil) and alot of draft pick between this year and next #3, #31 & #34, this year and three 1st Rounder's next year (theirs if it's a top ten, Miami's and Boston's) You know when you mentioned trading Foye it brought a tear to my eye....I remember when Foye was the breaking point when Iverson was up for grabs to play with Minnesota. McHale wouldn't make a trade with Philly if it involved Foye, but Foye was the main piece of any deal Philly proposed...I was so mad, cuz that was KG's chance to get the big scorer he wanted to play with.....sniff....sniff....I still remember the KG interview where he was pointing at the camera and telling AI to come on over....sniff....sniff
There's going to have to be a Webber/Penny or VC/Jamison type of deal. Beasley will not be the third pick in this draft.
