<span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:100%">TAYLOR RUMORS SWIRL</span> It should come as no surprise that rumors began to feverishly swirl Friday around the NFL about potential landing places for defensive end Jason Taylor if indeed he gets traded. But it doesn't appear that any of those rumors have much credibility. The Dolphins have not gotten any offers better than a fourth-round pick, which isn't enough for Parcells to justify pulling the trigger. That's why various reports tying Taylor to the Baltimore Ravens, the Washington Redskins and the San Diego Chargers Friday are unlikely to turn into immediate deals. The San Diego Union-Tribune even knocked down an NFL Network report suggesting the Chargers had interest. Instead, expect trade offers to increase closer to the preseason, when teams will be able to further analyze the state of their rosters -- and the potential need for an elite defensive end -- during training camp. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Link: http://www.miamiherald.com/616/story/545153.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- With the recent cutting of DE E. James, should or is Minnesota willing to bump up the ante and offer a 3rd Rounder for Taylor? Wilf has shown that he is willing to pay for a contender now...how nasty would a front line of the Williams' Wall be with Allen and Taylor on each side scaring the hell outta the QB

Yea thats a nice fair trade </div> Funny. I'm talking about the fact that all Miami's been getting offered is 4th rounders...what's so bad with Minny offering a 3rd? I'm just looking for thoughts on that, not a wise-ass.....lol.
That would be the scariest pass rush in the league, by far. I don't think you'd ever have to call a blitz.
if they think they are close to winning a title, they should try to get Jason Taylor....I dont personally think a 3rd rounder is going to get him though....
I thought you meant the team was looking to physically move their franchise. LOL. I have a feeling Taylor ends up in San Diego at some point. He wants to pursue a career in acting and San Diego is the closest team to Hollywood.
I think San Diego is where he ends up as well....the California thing is a factor, but i also believe the Chargers are a serious contender and would love to put Talyor at OLB opposite Merriman....which by the way, is how i would define pass rushing havoc in a dictionary....the eventual deal is a conditional 2nd, which could become a 1st if they win the AFC and Jason makes the pro bowl....

Have you seen this <span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:100%"> Miami's Taylor may like Bolts, but the feeling's not mutual </span> By Kevin Acee UNION-TRIBUNE STAFF WRITER 12:33 p.m. May 23, 2008 Miami Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor has passed word through friends that he wants to play for the Chargers. It won't happen. AdvertisementAfter months of rumors and theories by fans and even some media about the Chargers' interest in the former Defensive Player of the Year, a report on NFL Network on Thursday gave the speculation an air of legitimacy. The Chargers are forbidden from talking about a player under contract, but sources familiar with the thinking of the team's decision-makers have said emphatically that the Chargers have no interest in the Miami Dolphins defensive end and aspiring actor. The combination of his age, salary, what is seen as diminishing skills and his perceived lack of commitment to football quashed any interest by the Chargers. According to sources, the Chargers have not discussed a trade for Taylor with the Dolphins or Taylor's agent. Taylor, 34, is scheduled to make almost $8 million in 2008. He has upset his current boss, Bill Parcells, by skipping offseason workouts to participate in “Dancing With the Stars.” Taylor finished second to Kristi Yamaguchi this week in the popular television show. Taylor reportedly has requested a trade from the Dolphins, though he was quoted this week saying he would like to stay in Miami. Conflicting reports have the Dolphins trying to trade the six-time pro Bowler and taking him off the trading block. Taylor said after his “Dancing” stint that he was ready to concentrate on football. But he reportedly is spending this week meeting with Hollywood executives, and Dolphins coach Tony Sparano said Wednesday the team has been informed Taylor will not participate in any of the team's offseason workouts. link: http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/charg...23chargers.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ With the cutting of a DE James in Minny I'm gonna keep faith and hope that Minnesota pulls the trigger and does what ever it takes
Miami Herald writer Armando Salguero disagrees: http://miamiherald.typepad.com/dolphins_in...ast-one-ja.html
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (TheBeef @ May 27 2008, 03:32 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Miami Herald writer Armando Salguero disagrees: http://miamiherald.typepad.com/dolphins_in...ast-one-ja.html</div> It does seem as if SD has the upperhand being in Cali, and since showbusiness is where he is leaning towards...then that me be right. But my forum was on if Minnesota should make a move for him since they released James. Not saying they will, but if they should. With the "Williams Wall" in place that would be a perfect fit for Taylor who wouldn't even have to worry about the run and just come at the QB all day. If the Vikes added that piece they would have arguably the best defense in the league....like I said, one can dream
i support your thoughts on this matter 100%....send over that 2009 #1 draft pick and Jason is flying to Minnesota tonight....
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (TheBeef @ May 27 2008, 09:10 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>i support your thoughts on this matter 100%....send over that 2009 #1 draft pick and Jason is flying to Minnesota tonight....</div> I'm sure he would be...but that's kinda steep considering the article says he should be available for a 3rd Rounder...But Minny can just up the ante to a 2nd Rounder and call it a day. I mean that would send a serious message to all the other teams that the Vikings are serious about winning this year
Sorry bud....Parcells says the three options are Jason plays in Miami, Jason retires, or Jason is traded for a 1st....
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (TheBeef @ May 27 2008, 09:56 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Sorry bud....Parcells says the three options are Jason plays in Miami, Jason retires, or Jason is traded for a 1st....</div> Damn, So Parcells upped the ante? The link you posted earlier said a 3rd Rounder would get him, which is why I said to throw a 2nd rounder out there. Well, if that's what they want and Minny did that they should at least switch thier 3rd rounders or something like that
With Minnesota stating that they have no interest in bringing in Taylor, they must really believe in Ray Edwards and his claim of topping Strahan's sack record...lol Link: http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2008/05/25/...aim-at-strahan/ Funny stuff....although he might have a chance at 10 sacks due to (like he pointed out) added attention offensive lines have to pay on the "Williams Wall" and Allen....ummm....let's not get carried away, Ray....lol
The Parcells/Taylor rift seems to be overblown now, so Parcells can stick to his original statement, that Taylor will be a Dolphin....I still think a 1st would get him, but Parcells has all the leverage now that everyone made nice in Miami, so he cant be had for a discount....and once the possibility of a discount was gone, most teams will back away and claim they never had interest....
