Taken from an updated team report...

<span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:100%">" G Randy Foye likely will practice with the team’s top draft pick and the Wolves summer-league team to grow familiar with his new teammate but is not expected to play in Vegas."</span>

Seems like they would want a future backcourt mate to train with Mayo, huh? hmmmmm

I don't see anything about this quote that would signify Mayo over anyone else.

Kid, your always so negative and wanting to disagree with people. You don't let your mind wander and read between the lines? I'm not saying they will, but it is kinda strange that they would make it known that thier backcourt gem is will work personally with thier new pick. If they were leaning towards...let's say, Brook Lopez...you'd think they would have picked Big Al or another big man to practice post skills not a SG/PG

Relax buddy. If you want to find something there, you will find it, just because I'm taking it at face value doesn't mean I'm being negative and wanting to disagree with you. It's just a blurb that you are looking waaaaaaaaaay too far into.

All it says is that Randy Foye said he will practice with his new teammate. It didn't say with his future back court mate. There's nothing to read between the lines, you're looking into things too much. I don't think the team picked Foye to go there, it sounds like Foye is doing this by himself to acquaint himself with whoever his new teammate will be.

Now if it said something about a backcourt mate, or the team is sending Foye, there could be something, but like I already said, you're looking way too far into it. You are seeing what you want to see.

Also, this article is from before the draft lottery, so they didn't even know what pick they had yet...

You'd think you'd quote the part of the article where they actually talk about Mayo

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>If the Wolves don’t win one of the draft’s first two picks, one of the players they might have to decide upon is USC’s O.J. Mayo, who, according to an ESPN report, received thousands of dollars in improper benefits from a sports agent when he was in high school and a college freshman.

Two connections to keep in mind: Mayo’s agent—Bill Duffy, head of a North California sports agency that allegedly supplied cash and gifts in return for the right to represent Mayo when he turned pro—is the former college roommate of Timberwolves executive Kevin McHale. And Mayo’s college coach was Tim Floyd, who coached Wolves assistant general manager Fred Hoiberg at Iowa State.

When asked if the allegations about Mayo would affect the Wolves’ draft opinion about him, Hoiberg said he had talked to Floyd “a lot” about a number of his USC players.

“I can’t really comment specifically, but when you get to know the kids and get the chance to talk to them, that plays much more important role,” Hoiberg said.</div>

The update with Foye was made after the lottery. And as for that article about Mayo, well....I've posted that before and some people seem to pitch a hissy-fit if an article is posted more than once....go figure
