<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (NetsDaily)</div><div class='quotemain'>Rod Thorn, Kiki Vandeweghe and Lawrence Frank are headed to Orlando for the unveiling of the 2008 NBA Draft class. Sixty-five players have been invited, with another 15 showing up for physicals only. That’s 80 players for 60 picks…and international players are mostly still playing overseas. Among those sitting out is Texas A&M’s DeAndre Jordan, projected as the Nets’ pick on many mock drafts.</div>

I hope to god we don't pick DeAndre.

    Why did you say "realistic"?

Gallinari (man you butchered that one) and Mayo aren't realistic.

Hey if Danilo gets drafted by the Nets, thats the way I'm spelling it. I'm just hoping someone moves up and one of them falls, it could happen.

Here's to hoping someone has a phenomenal PreDraft camp and skyrockets up the charts so we somehow end up with Eric Gordon. [IMG]

We need to trade the eff down. Chad Ford ranks everyone we want out of our reach or in the 20's.

    </a>

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>We’ll be breaking the standouts here in a lot more depth over the next few days, but early on, some of the guys that made a solid first impression included Lester Hudson, George Hill, Brian Roberts, Pat Calathes and Richard Hendrix. These players stood out more so because of their calmness and poise picking their spots than anything really. Too many players here decided to go out and try to make things happen on their own time after time rather than let things come to them and play up to their strengths.</div>

A lot changes as the draft approaches. Some of those ranked in the mid to high teens could be worth #10 after workouts. And some lottery picks could go down to the high teens.

Personally I think alot of talent will be available at 21...Budinger, Batum, CDR and Bill Walker are all possibilities with that pick although I believe Budinger will work his way up in the draft through workouts...

As for the 10th pick...Anthony Randolph would be great but chances are he will be picked before that as will Lopez, Mayo and Gordon...so the pick will come down to Kevin Love, DeAndre Jordan, Mareese Spreights (if he works out well) and probably Donte Green...

Alot of these players have very high potential...but character concerns, injuries have hurt there stock wouldn't mind seeing us take a player like Donte Green with the 10th and Nicolas Batum with the 21st...probably wouldn't pay off next season but would give us a a solid foundation for the future.

A heads up: it's currently being broadcast on NBA.com and ESPN U.

James Gist has 11 pts on 4-7 shooting so far; not much else is impressive.

    edits:

Gary Forbes has 15 on 6-9 shooting.

The announcers are talking about the poor showing from Wayne Ellington the past two days, although I haven't seen a lot of him myself (I just turned the game on).

The next game just started. Keith Brumbaugh is playing on team blue.

edit: KB is looking pretty good so far. He's got 6 points on 3-3 shooting. What's impressed me is the fluidity of his game. He's looked a lot like CDR in the way he's been scoring: drives to the basket that end in these floaters/spinning hookshots about 10 feet out.

He's really quick, and pretty thin. His first basket was a put-back dunk (according to the announcers, I didn't catch it)

    Where did you see it?

    per DX

<span style="font-size:10pt;line-height:100%">Pat Calathes only got to play 15 minutes (sitting an extensive amount of time between stints), but really made the most of his time out on the floor, scoring 10 points and dishing off 5 assists (compared to just one turnover), many of the spectacular variety. His ball-handling skills, vision and all-around creativity were on full display throughout, looking aggressive and intelligent while not forcing the issue in the least bit. He would have had even more assists playing with some more skilled big man. He seems like a lock to get drafted at this point, and may be able to work himself considerably up the board if he continues to play like this in the next two days. </span>

It was on NBA TV, and showing a ESPN U feed (so I'd imagine it's on there, too). They're broadcasting the games tomorrow morning as well. One other thing I noticed about KB was that he's active. He's always moving, always trying to get involved with the play. On offense he's always trying to get open, and he was active in crashing the boards. For any fan who watched lackadaisical Nets basketball last season, you'd enjoy watching him play.

And watching these Pat Calathes write-ups have me wondering if DX is representing Pat as his agent.

I DON"T WANT DEANDRE either... reminds me sort of like hilton armstrong who isn't bad... but could be better.

Anybody can be available at #10... so hard to tell and im afraid that theres a good probability that we'll draft a bust. I'd feel a lot more confident if our pick was at #7-8 to draft an easier choice like Randolph / Love / Gallinari who will still be available. The same kinda goes for #21, because I want CDR and i have a feeling he'll be gone in the late teens. I'm not sure about brandon rush because he sort of reminds me of antoine wright lol. I donno where i get these thoughts of players resembling others but its just been nightmares after nightmares of us drafting the wrong person. Giving up granger still contributes to my baldness.

We can be in consensus that the first 5 likely to be gone are rose, beaseley, b lopez, jerryd bayless and oj mayo... but after that it gets interesting. Galinari, Randolph, Love, Augustin, Jordan and Gordon. The latter 5 are up in the air... so im hopeful that Love / Galinari / Randolph are still there... i know gordon will be gone higher... and i'd rather draft a forward than a point guard at this point in augustin. The one person that i do NOT want to draft is Jordan... so if Augustin doesn't get drafted before us... and we are left between Jordan and Augustin considering everyone i just mentioned is gone... then I'd rather go with Augustin at #10 to backup harris, and then use #21 on someone like speights who i think will probably fall down there.
