<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Not many NBA players are criticized for their style of play more than Vince Carter. Perhaps, it’s the idea that he could do more with his talent. But Carter still puts up numbers that only a few players can match. And one writer wonders why Carter is being criticized for doing something that Michael Jordan did as he got older.</div>

Haha, I like the sly lil Michael Jordan comparison. Sweet. I still don't mind keeping Vince (over RJ), I still think he could be an important part of this team next year (not RJ, trade him).

I don't remember where I read it, but there was an article written maybe a year ago or so (maybe even before then) about how Vince was supposed to be the "successor" to MJ, and that perhaps people criticize him as much as they do because he never lived up to those expectations. But it pointed out that people should still respect him for what he is: maybe not Jordan, but a damn good basketball player who can do things few others would dare even dream about.

Not saying I agree with it 100%, just thought I'd bring it up. I'm ashamed to say that it might have been a SLAM article. I subscribed to SLAM for about two years before stopping my subscription last year, so that may be where it came from. Was a pretty good article if I remember correctly, though.

I remember that article. I think it was the first (and only) SLAM that I bought.

The comments for this article are interesting.
