I agree with you. He's there yet, but he is still on Jordan's level. I just don't think one collapse can justify not even comparing him, like ICE had stated.
Ice didn't watch the game yesterday apparently. That was far from something that Kobe let happen. The Lakers were looking to defer in the second half, and Kobe was mostly a facilitator until the fourth quarter had started.
Psssh please. I didn't even think you guys would remember me. One game or not, Jordan never would have let that happen. Listen to any sportscaster too, they will tell you the exact same thing. Hell, MJ has destroyed teams on the road while battling the flu. Kobe is a GREAT player (even though I personally can't stand him - you can't argue his talent) but he will never be as good as Jordan. I'm simply saying Jordan is the greatest, and Kobe is great. I can't stand all these comparisons.

I love Kobe, he's my favorite player, but I can never envision a Michael Jordan team giving away a 24 point lead, at home, in the NBA Finals. I just can't

Defense and rebounding wins playoff games. Defense leads to points off turnovers. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Laker_fan @ Jun 13 2008, 05:29 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Who the hell is Ice? I hope Umair didn't change his name to Ice.</div> i lol'd
Awe, Kobe 8 Ball! How the hell are you? I remember all the old school JBB people. . Thrilla, Moo, Shard, Sir Desmond, VooDoo, etc. Haha & yeah, I'm a female. lol. & huevonkiller - you say Kobe didn't let that happen, but why is he the best player on the team, and let a 24 point lead slip AT home? You can say he was looking for open teammates & they missed the shots, but wouldn't that be the time where Kobe just needs to take over and dominate the game? He didn't and couldn't because of the Celtic defense. Instead he finished with 17 points on 6 of 19 shooting. So yeah, Kobe will never be as good as Jordan because one game or not, MJ wouldn't have let that happen. He would have taken care of home court advantage and done everything in his power to win that game. And Doc out coached Phil, which is another reason I think they were able to come back and take the W.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Who said you had to make the same bet? You don't have to do anything if the Lakers win. Yeah when we win, it's only cause they had an "off" night. Sure... The Celtics really blew us out on their homecourt, oh no wait.... Sorry if I doubt the clutch abilities of KG but I do.</div> Seriously man the Celtics have owned the Lakers all season long. KG and Pierce won't have that bad of a game again collectively. Odom and Gasol will, because they've shown consistency in the sucking dept. this series. You've had "2 quarters" where your offense was clicking and it both of those quarters the Celtics were flat as a diet soda left open for 3 days. And KG isn't clutch, but with Pierce manning up and living up to his nickname, and Jesus coming down from calvary and kicking ass, there's no need for him to be Mr. Clutch....all he has to do is hold the fort down defensively and do a decent job on offense. Sorry if I doubt the big game abilities of everyone on that team outside of Kobe and D. Fish.
Welcome back Ice, and hope you stick around and add to our discussions. Hopefully you like soccer as well.

Fish. </div> Remember before the playoffs, everyone was doubting the Celtics since many players did not have any big playoff experience, except Posey and Cassell who have been in the finals, then you have KG, Pierce and Jesus who have been plenty of times in the playoffs, just not at this level. But no one mentioned the Lakers, who outside Kobe and Fisher, are a very young team, with little to no experience in the playoffs. That's one of the reasons why they're losing. And back to the topic about Kobe and MJ, I still continue to claim that Kobe is the best player after MJ, even if he was to retire at this moment. I don't think he'll surpass MJ, but will come close to that level, and who knows, in a few years we'll talk about players and say he's the next Kobe. Because he'll make his name important in the history of the game.
