Boki Turns Down Olympics to Work on Contract
May 30, 2008, 5:34 am Boki Nachbar will not play for the Slovenian National Team in this summer’s Olympic qualifying tournament. Instead, the Nets’ free agent will work on rehabbing his injured back and signing a new contract. Nachbar would like to play, said Slovenian coach Ales Pipan, “but looking at the circumstances, it was not really possible”. Slovenia could not insure Nachbar’s contract, Pipan said.

Keep him and draft a gaurd. Guy is loyal as hell and isn't chancing injury.

It's hard to quantify loyalty in this day and age, especially with us just been through the Mikki Moore situation.

Last year we chose House over Boki; this was a huge disappointment. If that lowers his resigning price, fine I'd like him cheap, but after the season he just went through I wouldn't lose a wink of sleep over losing him.

His shooting ability isn't enough for me to look past his defensive mishaps and unforced turnovers anymore. It's nice to see player loyalty, do not get me wrong, but the Nets have been a stage for mediocre players to put forth some effort and shine and are in no real indication of how good these players are. Not one Net since leaving has had the kind of impact they had here and neither will Boki or RJ.

We need to rebuild right, not be sucked into emotional decisions, and that is why Kiki is here to help Rod cut those chords he has a hard time cutting. Shooting is crucial but I look at Philly this season and Chicago from a season ago and say it's alot easier to add that shooter after figuring out who you really are as a team and that is something the Nets have yet to do and having Boki around will not help do that with Frank's affection for him.

How come only free agents make their paying job a priority?

I'd rather they draft a player at #40 and use him than draft a eurostash and pay Boki.

I'd rather they draft a Eurostash, sign Demetris Nichols, and sign Josh Pace than to re-sign Boki.

Boki didn't turn down the olympics. His team has to play a pre-qualifier this summer, before the olympics, because they didn't qualify yet.
He said, if his team makes it without him, he will certainly join them for the olympic games.

    Just to clear the information...
