Hypothetically speaking, if you were the GM of the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Bulls offered you the #1 overall pick of the draft for Andrew Bynum, would you accept? In exchange for Bynum, you would be able to obtain Michael Beasley or Derrick Rose (or anyone in the draft for that matter). Would either of them be enticing enough to give up Bynum for?

    My opinion:

    Derrick Rose - hell no
    Michael Beasley - no

    Thoughts?

If it was last years draft, then maybe! This year's draft..no way in hell. Having Pau..will allow Bynum to developed faster. Imagine Bynum and Pau going at it every day at practice. This team is going to be impossible to beat next year. If injuires do not plague us!

Absolutely not. The Lakers are in the perfect position for the next five years. Making a big move could only screw up what they have going for them. They have the perfect complement of players and they are dominating now without Bynum. With Bynum developing and healthy, I feel horrible for the rest of the league.

The Lakers pretty much have elite players at SG, SF, and PF. Fisher has been great for them this year, and Farmar is a good backup.

They don't need Beasley, and the question would be, would the minute Rose plays over Fisher/Farmar be more valuable than the minutes Bynum would play over Turiaf and Walton/other SF (because Odom shifts down to SF if Bynum starts).

I'd say Bynum. Kobe and Lamar Odom each ball handle a fair bit themselves, and the Lakers actually wouldn`t benefit from a Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Steve Nash, as much as most teams do.

So I`d say nope to the 1st pick.

    I'd trade him for Beasley.

Not if you're the Lakers. We've got a lot of SF/PF depth.

Move Odom for a good Center then.

Dude, we're not waiting for Beasley to prove himself in this league or develop.

And if we win a title we're not breaking anything up.

Simple question unrelated to the topic: Who would you rather start a team with? Bynum or Beasley?

Wasn't it just a few months ago that you wished Odom would be sent out for anything?

You wouldn't even need to move Odom. Pau has been pretty successful at center. Beasley can be used as a PF.

Beasley hasn't proven anything in this league, there's no reason to take such a risk.

Sure Beasley might blow away Odom one day, but there is no guarantee it would be within the next few years, thereby wasting Kobe's time. We're not the Nets, we are in a championship situation right now.

We mostly don't care about expiring contracts. We want veterans that can ball for the right price or decent depth.

I need to see the bias.

    Failed, man.

You questioned my thoughts with the rest of your previous post

QUOTE

Wasn't it just a few months ago that you wished Odom would be sent out for anything?

    So I provided a retort.

As for your unrelated question, I don't care. I'm not a huge Bynum or Beasley fan. I don't know how well Beasley will translate in the NBA, or if Bynum will stay healthy. Either could be stars though.

Huevon is a Bynum doubter, still. He fails to see the light.

His point is legit, Yinka. You're reaching for something that isn't there...

Your question has no real answer.

I know what Bynum can do in this league though, let's see if Beasley becomes a bust first.

My question does have a real answer. The answer would be an opinion. I'm asking for your opinion.

An opinion is just an answer. Hypothetical questions don't have "real" answers with any concrete value. We can debate the status of the Lakers though, and what they need or what risks they are taking.

And I already gave you my opinion on the situation.

So does that mean: "I don't know." or "I have an idea, but I don't want to say it, in case I look like a dumbass in the future"
