Just wondering, do you prefer the 2-3-2 format over the 2-2-1-1-1 format? Personally, I believe this thing can work out either way. If we can steal one of the first two games against Boston, we will be in extremely good shape heading back to the Staples for three straight games (we are undefeated at home). But, if we drop the first two, I don't see us winning all three of our home games, so it may come in as a disadvantage. So I'm just wondering, what do you guys think of the format? Will it benefit us, or will it hurt us?
Either way, you're not winning 3 straight (home) games. We're not Denver you know. You might be able to steal one in the beginning, at our home, but we'll definitely win one (or two) at your home as well, and the series will go to either 6 or 7 games. (you say it'll be lakers, I say it'll be celtics)
After seeing Detroit steal one in Boston with injured players and all, the Lakers are definitely taking it. We beat Minny in 6 games in 2004 even though they had homecourt. And yes, Boston has looked soft.

How are they gonna win at LA?
Oh so it was an injury? Yet if they would have won the series, no one would have mentioned it. lol He never looked injured to me. Give props to Rondo for making him look injured to you.
I'm just going out on limb here and saying Rondo shouldn't be that big of a deal for us this series. After going through Allen Iverson, Deron Williams, and Tony Parker, I'm sure Fisher and Farmar will be delighted to match up against someone like Rondo.
I agree with Brian. We are supposed to be scared of Rondo? We faced the best PG in the league in Deron, Rondo doesn't scare us. He is a great young player, don't get us wrong...but Fisher and Farmar are dying to face him.

If they would have won the series, mad props would have been given to Billups for being able to play through an injury. He looked pretty tentative out there, to me.
lakers in 5 boys LA-BOS-LA-LA-LA Fisher will destroy Rondo, as Gasol and Kobe will be unstopable for Perkins and Allen. Our biggest concern must be Pierce, just put Ariza over him and the series is our

I love the 2-3-2. It puts immense pressure on team with the better record, and neutralizes the home court advantage. In fact, it may be unfair to the higher seeded team. If a home team wins every time, the higher seed is forced to play 2 elimination matches. Hell, just in order to NOT get eliminated, you either have to defend both your home court games or steal 1 on their court. And even this gets you down a game (2-3) What the 2-3-2 basically says is that the higher seeded team has to steal TWO games. That's just ridiculous.

You will not win 3 "straight" games (when you're at home). No team has won 3 straight games versus us. And you only did it to Denver in the first round.

The Lakers have gone up against more elite teams consecutively than Boston. They just got out of the most competitive year in the West with a 12-3 record.
