I was in the car earlier and I was listening to the radio and on 620, the Sports Animal, they were reporting that sources say the Heat have OJ Mayo near the top of their draft board and that they may select him with the second pick. Apparently they've been impressed with him and think he would fit in their offense. Just telling you what I heard. I honestly understand where they are coming from if they draft Mayo. Beasley is immature and I think a lot of teams are getting scared off by his childish antics. He's been goofing around during workouts, has a history of being immature, and has been said to have a poor work ethic. He's slacked off during games and doesn't seem to have the drive or love of the game to be a top player in this league. If Rose goes number one, I'd go Mayo or trade the pick. If I'm a Heat fan, I want to stay away from Beasley.

I think those maturity question marks are bit overstated. The dude's clearly a more promising player than Mayo (at least, IMO), and I don't think he's done anything off-the-court to overshadow that.
If they don't want Beasley with the second pick, there is no question they should trade down to a position where they could get the player they want (Mayo, etc.). Using this #2 pick on anyone but Beasley would be "wasting" the pick. If the Heat really don't want Beasley, let the bidding begin!

If they don't want him at #2, there will be others that will. Might as well trade down and get the player they really want and something else.
