<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Despite coaching the Detroit Pistons to the Eastern Conference finals each of the last three seasons, Flip Saunders is out of a job.

The Pistons fired Saunders on Tuesday, four days after the Pistons were eliminated by the Boston Celtics in the conference finals.</div>

    Pistons getting ready to rebuild?

Take a year off Flip and start looking for job next season, when the Raps have finally given up on Smitch.

Serious question though: is Flip to blame for this team's passivity or is it just the roster makeup? If its the latter, that'd be twice that Saunders has been fired because he wasn't given good enough players.

What more does Dumars want? The Pistons can only go as far as Billups can take them and he got hurt.

Flip has developed Max and Stuckey while winning

If I'm correct I don't think Chicago has technically hired anyone yet (despite the media talk about Doug Collins BEING the new coach)...neither has Phoenix. Watch for Flip to end up on one of those two. I liked Flip and thought he was a good coach. Best wishes to him.

    Who'd replace him though?

Any chance that Avery goes to Detroit? Being that he's a defensive minded coach, and the Pistons are a defensive team.

I think it would be a great fit.

Pistons need to change their style of play IMO. I mean, Chauncey isn't getting any younger and their style can only get them so far. Flip did a good job developing young guys and I think that firing him was a bad idea. Avery doesn't seem like the answer either. They need Larry Brown!

He had basicly the same team Larry Brown had, and lost to Miami...He then ran his "best" player out of town. Lebron scores 100 straight points becouse we didnt have a shot blocker. This year, well becouse Detroit aint Boston we didnt go to the finals. So its Flips fault for not reaching the Finals.

THANK GOD HE IS GONE! Mike Curry has the inside track to get the job. He played when Jim Carrey was coaching, and right now he was the Asst. Coach.

And who said rebuild? The Pistons went to 6 straight ECF with 3 diffrent coaches. 7/4 with 2 Championships will be nice [IMG]
