<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (NetsDaily)</div><div class='quotemain'>The stats geeks over at Wages of Wins think that DeSagana Diop is likely to be one of the top bargains, if not the bargain, among this year’s unrestricted free agents while Boki Nachbar is pretty much bottom of the barrel. Using their Wins Produced formula, WoW puts Diop just below top tier free agents–those likely to get $10 million plus a year. Nachbar, they write, ranks only above Miami’s Earl Barron.</div>

Hm. I sorta wanted someone to take Boki, and I really wanted the Nets to be able to take on Diop again. Tho...I know it won't happen

Boki had a miserable year. I like him; he's a good guy who wants to play for the Nets; but I don't know how much he actually helps. Three-point shooting and limited defense--the nets could replace him with some marginal player like Kevin Pittsnogle (who has never played in the league) and probably not miss a beat.

Underestimating Boki a little, IMO. When he played well, there was talk he could replace RJ. Before his injuries, Boki had a ton of dunks and provided a lot of energy off the bench, something we've lacked. Although he's not an "energizer" in himself, Boki does a great job feeding off another's energy, like he did with Mikki.

He's a solid 3 point shooter and moves relatively well. He's not exactly a great defender, but he makes an effort. Maybe he'll take a paycut because he had such a horrid year? For 3-4 mill I would keep him for 3 years. Say $11M over 3 years?

I would expect Boki to bounce back next year. He blew his contract year after having an awesome season so I just do not see how that adds up.

Also, let Diop go if he's going to get under 10 mil.

i like boki and the effort he brings but like dumpy said we will not miss him if he leaves...in fact, i hope we do replace him with someone else because i think he won't become much better that what he is now...

I have nothing against Nachbar, in fact, I like the guy. That's not the issue here. If he ends up having another bad year of basketball, which for some reason, I feel he will, we're going be looking at each other saying "We actually re-signed this guy"? I just don't want to take that type of risk. Let's look at other available players, and if nothing pans out, we get Boki back.
