That's all you really can ask for, given how terrible NBA officiating is.</div> Well, sure, that's easy for you to say as a Raps fan. It's a little different when your team is on the receiving end of it. And yeah, I agree that the officiating in the league sucks, but it should suck for both teams. Watch the replays from last night and you'll see that nearly every call went the Celtics way. That last bumping call against Fisher with a couple minutes left in the fourth was especially incriminating given the "let 'em play" style the refs employed for most of the rest of the game. It felt like the Lakers couldn't gain any momentum because the refs would make egregiously bad calls as soon as things started to tick.

Downright amazing if you ask me.</div> Of course they didn't guard him, but you know what the great thing is? We could've won last night even with those kinds of numbers from Kobe. Although he was hacked the two times he drove to the hoop (both non-calls), the calls against the other guys really hurt us much more. And, for what it's worth, Kobe would have shot much better if the Lakers established any momentum the whole game. We played an exceptionally choppy game and almost won. Whatever. I'm done complaining about the refs. They screw everyone over at some point.
Kobe is shooting 33% against the Celtics in 3 games this year, and apparently, it's all the officials fault.

Apparently you struggle with da reeding komprehunshun.
Here's my thoughts on Game 1. The Lakers were only to play their style for one quarter of this game. The 2nd quarter was the only time I saw the Lakers run their offense effectively and play with consistent energy on both ends of the court. At one point we had 14 assists on 16 shots. Out of halftime the Celtics quickly erased the Lakers lead with Paul Pierce pray answered resulting in a 4 point play. I could tell on the Lakers first possession the team was going to struggle in the 2nd half. On the inbounds pass Lamar Odom walked the ball up the court instead of dribbling across the halfcourt line and getting the offense going. The entire team looked over confident and in cruise control coming out of halftime. The Celtics made a fantastic halftime adjustment to stop the one play which was working for us, the pick and roll with Kobe and Pau. In the 2nd quarter Kobe and Pau were picking apart the Celtics defense, but in the 2nd Half the Celtics started sending Pierce over from the weakside to disrupt the pass from Kobe inside to Pau. Unfortunately, the player Pierce was guarding wasn't cutting to the basket LUKE WALTON. The embarrassing stat in this game was the thrashing we took on the boards. Even without Kendrick Perkins for most of the game the Celtics were +17 on the rebounds last night. This is the NBA Finals we cannot allow any team to beat us on the glass by that margin. There's a problem when Ray Allen is out rebounding Lamar Odom in the game. Lakers also left a lot of points at the free throw line, which is a no-no on the road. We shot only 21 of 28 from the line, while Boston shot 28-35. The Celtics also outscored us from behind the arc. Our only positive was not turning the ball over much in this game otherwise I don't think the score is even close. There was some shitty calls in this game, but nothing as blatant as the officiating in the San Antonio series. The Lakers got some favorable calls in this game especially the blocking foul the called on PJ Brown when he actually drew the charge on Odom. It would have been Odom's 6th foul. I didn't think Kobe played bad or over shot the basketball. He had some wide open looks in this game, but couldn't hit shots he normally makes. I've never seen so many balls rim out like they were last night for the Lakers. Kobe had 4 or 5 rim out, Sasha had a couple, and Gasol had a hook shot go halfway down and pop back up. If half those rim shots go in, it's a completely different ball game. This is the type of creepiness that goes on when you play in Boston. The Kelly Green ghosts who inhabit the gym come out during the playoffs to help out their home team. I feel the Lakers blew an opportunity to take Game 1, but I'm still confident they can win this series. Neither team played very well in the opener and both had some horrendous scoring droughts. The Lakers can still meet their goal of getting a split in Boston and give themselves a chance to win 3 straight at home for the trophy. Lakers must match the Celtics physically in the next game. The Lakers just defeated two very physical teams in Utah and San Antonio, and I don't think Boston is anymore physical than either of those two. Lakers must attack the rim more, do a better job of boxing out and gang rebounding, and taking it strong to the rack.
I also really enjoyed the promo prior to the game with all those historical plays throughout the NBA playoffs. That was awesome. Also the commercial with Magic & Bird was amazing.
kelly green ghosts? that's just silly. it was the big three who provided the offensive spark. the celtics just clamped down on the lakers while the lakers thought they just had to show up to win the game. the big three are more hungry than the lakers and will beat them down. already, the laker fans are saying they will win the next four. that's not what the celtic fans are saying; they're saying "we gotta play d for the full game, not just half."
Doc Rivers is a moron, why doesn't he get Garnett to post up more often? Why is he taking jumpshots thinking hes MJ? I agree with Pau Gasol being soft 89 year old PJ Brown came in and out muscled both Odom and Pau. Ariza??? Phil is never going to use him.

It doesn't matter if Laker fans still say they'll win in 5 games Brian. If anything that's because of the 2-3-2 format. I personally see LA winning in 5/6.

He's also one of the best mid range jumpshooters in the league, especially for his size. Somehow he got the reputation as a post player, but his only goto move down there is a fadeaway j.

Idk why he's got that reputation either, I mean technically he doesn't even have a big man game (which is why people will always value Duncan over KG).
He probably has the reputation because every highlight they show of KG is him throwing down a power dunk.
