<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (NetsDaily)</div><div class='quotemain'>The phones are ringing. As workouts progress, teams realize how deep the draft is and want better picks. Kiki Vandeweghe is listening. Another indication of the depth: the Nets’ GM says Friday’s workout was the best yet, with Marreese Speights, Brandon Rush and Chase Budinger impressive. Speights, he could see, “playing minutes right away.” Saturday’s headliners: Chris Douglas-Roberts and Nets’ fan Devon Hardin.</div>

Anyone ever see Speights play before, that could fill me in?

I still want Budinger and/or Rush.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Al)</div><div class='quotemain'>Rush showed he can do it all as he was able to defend, post up and play a complete game.

"Brandon did a good job today," Vandeweghe said. "He's a very athletic wing who can really shoot the basketball. He played good defense today. He competed."

“Today was a real test of competitiveness. That was what we were looking for. We were looking for guys who were tough and competitive and wouldn’t give up. Brandon had a good day. He was good. He shot the ball very well. He had a few exceptional moves today, very quick pro type moves.”

On Budinger, Vandeweghe said: “He was more athletic than I thought. I watched Arizona five, six times this year, a couple of times in person. What he showed today was he was a little bit more athletic. We ran a thing at the beginning where they had to make a move against no defense. We had the best dunking day I’ve ever seen. Budinger was one of the leaders. He could really jump, very quick. His shot is different but it goes on.”</div>

I like the sound of that. Rush/CDR/Budinger should be our targets for #21..

The 21st pick seems like it will bring in better value at its draft position than the 10th pick. Some very good role players could be there at 21 to start building a quality bench. I hope the first choice with the 10th pick would be to try and use it in a package to try and get Brand. Then try to get some nice potential role players with the 21st pick. Guys like:

    Rush
    CDR
    Budinger

    Speights
    Koufos
    Hibbert
    McGee

Have a guy like Speights be mentored by Brand.

Then hope Mario Chalmers drops to 40 so he can replace Marcus and backup Devin.
