Really, I gotta give props to him. He really stepped up in this game, and had some nasty plays. I hate how Doc is so inconsistent though, and wish he'd play him on a consistent basis...(or not... )
Yea, he waz a pain in the ass in the Hawks series. Luckly they had a retard coach who only put him in for 8 or so minutes
As much as I hate to admit it, Powe just got himself a new fan today. Come back to Cali when your contract is over!
He's great of the bench though, when given the chance. But what worries me is when he start playing well, then Doc goes back to the starter(s) again, except this game he didn't and Leon got more minutes to show him physical side of the game. Sucks that he's too short to be a PF. lol
Gotta give props to the man. He killed the Lakers tonight. Personally, I'm hoping his inconsistent side shows again Tuesday, but that's just my bias speaking there. In reality, he was great, and had he not been on the opposing side, I'd have appreciated his performance much more, instead, it kills me to see how great he was and how bad our front line as a whole was.
I hope this desn't bring along shades of Eddie Robinson back in Char. Hornet days. He made a big ass impression in the playoffs, got that big contract and then seemingly fell of the face of the earth. Hype from the big stage does equal long term sucess...some guys are great energy guys, come off the bench give a good 10 minutes but can't put it all together.
Players i never expected to show up did most of the damage... Cassell, Ray Allen, PJ Brown and now Powe And the player who needed to step up, odom, wasnt much of an impact. Talk about Luck of the Irish. and Bad luck for L.A.
Paul Pierce is the truth not Leon Powe lol. That would be like saying Andrew Bynum is the Black Mamba after a good game.
i like this celtics team...boston is only lacking a guy who can score using post moves down low like what al jefferson used to do for the celtics...

Cassell, Ray Allen and PJ Brown are all veterans, all made big plays and played in a lot of big games. They're all starving for a championship. Powe is obviously younger but a good game from him isn't surprising considering he was the first big man off the bench for the Celtics for most of the year (which is impressive considering Doc's shitty rotations). Hes a workhorse for sure though, he was getting to all the spots where he needed to be and his teammates found him and he made a lot of plays. Odom, on the other hand, is notorious for collapsing under pressure. The more he hears that hes the X-factor probably the less likely it is that he'll really do well. He struggled as the #2 guy on the Lakers, then Pau got there and everyone forgot about him and he did really well. He did well for a long time as an afterthought. Now people are noticing him again and hes not stepping up. Hes not playing terribly but hes not raising his game to make up for the great defense that the Celts are putting on Kobe. Playing at home might help him out some more but hes just got to be more assertive, which I don't really see happening because thats been his problem his whole career and I doubt he changes it now. Like Thrilla said though, Powe is too inconsistent. He can be really solid but he can also do nothing at times. I think that problem stems fro mthe fact that hes not a good individual defender and hes not a force on the glass either. Those are two things that a big man can bring every night to keep themselves in the rotation. Powe has to rely on having a hot shooting night or his teammates finding him where he can score to really do well because he is naturally a scorer . I do wish the W's drafted him instead of Kosta Perovic but at the same time I don't know how he would do in the western conference. Hes really about 6'6-6'7 and he doesn't have the girth or amazing rebounding instincts of some of the other good undersized energy types like Millsap, Maxiel, Craig Smith, etc. Happy to see him doing well because I was a huge fan of his at Cal but like others are saying he hasn't really arrived as an NBA player yet. We need to see him be more consistent because now that some people know about him there will be more expectations for him to do better. BTW kind of ironic that Shape still has that old Powe avy from like 3 years ago.
Odom has historically been decent in the playoffs actually. I don't know why he shouldn't do better at home.
