I remember when we lost game 1 and barely won game 2 against the pistons in 2004, i knew we were going to lose..

For whatever reason, I dont feel that way ... we will win this series, im almost certain of it ..

If we win we win in 6, which means 4 in a row. I don't see us beating the Celtics in game 7, in Boston. They've already played two game 7's, and we've played none

Lakers go back to Boston up 3-2.

I'm not worried, yet. If we look like shit going into half time @ game 3, then I'll start worrying.

Hm...well, Boston's been in two game 7's on their way to finals; and the Lakers have only been to one game 6. Shouldn't that be a good thing?

Also, the Lakers have won 4 away games (4-5 on the road) and the Celtics have won 2 away games (2-7 on the road).

Lakers are 8-0 at home. Celtics are 12-1....

The odds seem to be against the Celtics, here.. [IMG]

The odds are against us, because how many teams have gone down 0-2 in the Finals, and then came back and won all 3 home games, and then the series? Not many at all. I'm not saying the series is over, because the Celtics have struggled a bit on the road, and we have been unbeatable at home in the postseason, but it is time to start increasing the urgency. After game 1, you guys said, I'm not worried. After game 2, you guys are saying, I'm not worried. I just hope the Lakers don't have that attitude, and just think that because they will be playing at home, they will automatically get the win. Personally, I am a bit worried about the series, and it's time for everyone to start stepping up. We're on a short leash here. We MUST win all 3 games at home now, because the chances of us winning 2 straight on the road against the Celtics, to close of the series, is not really great at all. Especially after watching the officiating tonight, closing out a series in that fashion is VERY unlikely. The pressure is on our guys to perform. I know Kobe will step up, what what about the others? What about Pau? What about Lamar? What about the role players? They've all got to step up

The odds, in theory, are against both teams. While only three teams have ever come back from being down 0-2 in the Finals, no team, let me repeat, NO TEAM, has ever gone to seven games twice before the Finals and won the Finals. So, in theory, we still have better odds of doing it since it's been done.

As for the series, I think we'll take the middle three games and win in game six. Despite losing, I think we have the momentum. We played an unbelievable fourth quarter and, had we not been bent over by the refs, we probably would have won this game. Also, I don't expect Leon Powe to torch us for 21 again. No offense Shape, since I know you love him (and he's got a great story behind him, I agree), but there's no excuse for the Lakers allowing him to score 21. And hell, who knows, maybe Odom will show up at home. So far, the only good play he's made was tossing the ball off PJ Browns face. He's played like pure garbage, but I think playing at home should re-energize him and hopefully he'll play better.

Also to point out is Kobe. He played a lot better tonight. He shot efficently, but just couldn't buy a foul. He needs to be more aggressive, and I think being at home will provide the spark for him. I wouldn't be surprised if he comes out and drops 40 on Boston Tuesday night.

And I'm with NMG, this series still feels like ours to win. We had a lead in game one and let it slip, and we had a chance in game two had the refs called it fairly, I still think this series is ours and I won't worry until we're down by an insurmountable amount come the fourth quarter of game three.

If the Celtics win even 1 of the 3 games in LA were done.

Guys please... 1 game at a time... even i kept on saying lakers in 5, lakers in 6... almost everybody did... But now they are at a point where if they lose 1 more game it's over.

We need to f*ckin wake up

Good points... But i think the reason Powe was used was because Perkins got into foul trouble... Yes i dont believe powe would show up to torch us for 21 again but im afraid Perkins will re emerge and do some damage down low.

As for Kobe, wtf are these refs thinking? No blood not FT's? Especially that 'almost' alley-oop slam... That would have normally been a foul but i think there's some behind the scenes sh*t going down the the officiating... It was obvious that Pierce ,at least, nudged Kobe to prevent him from making that shot.

Yes we almost had the same number of fouls as the Celtics BUT most of THEIR fouls sent them to the Charity stripe... i mean Damn

The second half of fourth quarter really gave me some hope, if we continue to play like that in the Staples, I'm certain, that we're gonna win these three games. Also the pick and roll with Kobe and Gasol really worked out for us, we should use this combination more often. That way Kobe can get to the rim or pass to Pau for an easy two.

I certainly do believe that the Lakers will win three straight at home and will take game 6 at Boston.

    There's a possibility.

Imagine what the fans in LA are going to chant when Paul Pierce is at the line.

I'm more anxious to hear how much the Celtics (mainly PP) get booed. I have a feeling it'll be pretty loud.

No matter what the deficit is I will always believe that our boys will come back and win. I think it's funny when other fans come in here to tell us stuff like "Who said Lakers in 5 or 6?" I mean we are rooting with our hearts and not really with our heads, but do you honestly expect to come out and say "Oh, yeah Celtics in 4".

We are Laker fans and our Lakers will win.

    Period.

I also noticed that when we play Kobe out there with a bunch of shooters (basically) the Celtics space out more and don't want to leave their men (now so more than ever because of that barrage we laid down in the 4th), this allowed for Kobe to actually get in the lane. I think we should try this again. I liked Trevor's defense on Pierce last night. He needs to be out there with Pau and Lamar, that way we can defend him and have tremendous help from our big men. Farmar is playing alright in this series and I like his warrior mentality out there. Jordan, Kobe, and Pau seemed to be the only Lakers who didn't give up.

Let's go get this guys, my confidence is NOT shaken and my faith has NOT faltered.

By no means am I faltering. I still think we're the better team, even though we've been pretty well handled this year. We finally showed signs last night in the fourth. I really am confident that we can rattle off the next four games.
