    Shake, why Douglas-Roberts? The Sixers needs are a big, a 3 point shooter, and a backup PG, and CDR fits none of those. I would think they'd be hesitant to take another Tiger swing after Rodney Carney.

    Willie Green, Carney, CDR. Very redundant.

    CDR, huh? Might be a little early to pick him. Personally, I'm a big Joe Alexander fan, but I really like this kid Douglas Roberts.

    I just don't see him fitting into the 6ers.

    They need a backup PG. CDR is not a PG.

    They need big depth. CDR is not a big.

    They need 3 point shooting. CDR's biggest knock is his 3 pt shooting.

    Which is why I suggested Joe Alexander (3pt shooting). I guess a Chase Budinger type player would fit better if that is the criteria the 76ers are going by.

    I liked CDR and I think while they need a big, he'll be a good player. Plus, he's my fav guy out of this draft, so I picked him.

    Please don't discount the fact you are drafting for a certain team.

    That's another part of the thinking. I don't have a trade lined up, but I figure that Jordan has the most trade value of anybody on the board.

    I see this as our core for the next 10 years:

    Koponen/Rodriguez
    Roy/Fernandez
    Webster/Outlaw
    Aldridge/Frye
    Oden/Jordan
    </div>

    Ah, I see. You're looking to get rid of Przybilla and that godawful contract. Perfectly understandable.
    </div>

    Hows it godawful, you have to pay to get decent bigs. He was great last year and will arguably be the best backup C in the league next year

    Actually, you may be onto something.

    6'7" unathletic SGs are a Stefanski specialty.

    In this mock draft you assume the GM of that team, so that is irrelevant.

    Jermaine O'neal bitched about playing behind Grant, Wallace and Sabonis, I don't see why this would be any different.
    </div>

    Outlaw has never complained about not starting that I know of.
    </div>

    I was talking about Jordan being behind Przybilla, Oden, Aldridge and Frye</div>

    Right, but my point was that not every young player with potential complains when he gets stuck behind another player. Also, I think Aldridge and Frye will get most of their playing time at PF while Jordan will get most of his playing time at C, and I'd look at trading Przybilla.

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (pegs @ Jun 12 2008, 07:43 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (gambitnut @ Jun 12 2008, 12:04 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (pegs @ Jun 11 2008, 08:29 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Deandre Jordan?     </div>

    Przybilla's contract goes beyond 2009 when I hope to have cap space, but I don't see it as awful. I just don't see him as part of our core for the long term. I'm not desperate to trade him, but I will look into it. What I'd really like to do is replace him with a veteran C who plays defense but has an expiring contract, that way Jordan can bulk up and learn the NBA game for a season before we depend on him to backup Oden. Oden really bulked up in his year off, and I think he could help Jordan do that as well and become a better player.

    Catching up here ...

    I like the Westbrook and Gallinari picks. I think both could be Brandon Roy type picks, SG/SF players with PG skills who are more developed and more ready to contribute right away, but slip a little bit because they don't have the "potential" of some of the rawer players. I think they'll have some of the better stats and be in the running for rookie of the year, maybe get an all-star selection or two, but not be huge stars. I think Westbrook will help the Clippers more because they are closer to being decent if Brand doesn't opt out. I'm not sure what the Bucks will do, I hear trade rumors, but nothing definite. How well will Gallinari fit next season? Was there a player on the board with better potential that they could have picked instead? I still like the pick, if for no other reason, because , with the rumors of him only wanting to play for NY or NJ, I love the idea of the Bucks calling a player's bluff two years in a row.

    I like Love, my only comment on that pick is that I would have picked Jordan there as well and slid Okafor over to PF.

    Can Randolph play PF, if not I probably would have picked Alexander or Greene and looked at rebuilding and trading Carter and/or Jefferson.

    I think I would have gone with a SF for Sacramento, and traded Artest if needed, and officially started the rebuild process.

    KC, other than trying to imitate Steve Kerr and take the heat off of me, what made you decide to pick Hickson?

    I agree with others that CDR is a good player, but maybe not the best fit for Philadelphia, not sure who I would have picked instead though.

    Franscio Garcia has shown alot of promise for the Kings at SF spot. The Kings had Adur-Rahim, Shelden Williams, and Kenny Thomas @ PF

    Amare and Shaq are the only bigs under contract for the Suns, and Shaq's minutes will have to be limited. Hickson can give some minutes as a banger inside, as he won't be needed to score, just bang inside, which is what he's good for.

    I forgot about Garcia. Arthur is fine then. Or maybe Lawson that high?
