<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>SANTA MONICA, Calif. -- D.J. Augustin didn't miss. Well, at least it seemed like he didn't miss a shot. Watching Augustin work out Saturday morning at St. Monica Catholic High was a clear indication that Augustin deserves all the consideration to be drafted from No. 6 on down. Augustin, the Bob Cousy award winner for being the top point guard this past season, a first-team All-American and the main reason Texas reached the Elite Eight, is working out for Sacramento (No. 12), the L.A. Clippers (7) and the New York Knicks (6) in the next week. Augustin worked out for Indiana (11) and did work out for Phoenix (No. 15) as a backstop for him if he were to slide. "Me and my agent keep hearing that I could go between 6 and 12," Augustin said after a morning workout. Augustin said he didn't hesitate about declaring and eventually signing with Arn Tellem's group. "I wanted to go to the NBA, worked hard and learned as much as possible," Augustin said. "It's been a great journey for me. I've matured a lot [in two years] and learned a lot from coach [Rick] Barnes." Augustin is the next guard likely to go after a cluster of Derrick Rose (Memphis), O.J. Mayo (USC), Jerryd Bayless (Arizona) and Eric Gordon (Indiana). But it's hard to put too much distance between this group and Augustin. There wasn't a division during the college basketball season. Sure, size is an issue against Augustin since he was measured at 5-foot-11 in Orlando. But size never affected him in college. Augustin is a scorer, a cerebral player (he was a stellar student for the Longhorns as a first-team academic All-American after his sophomore season) and a winner. "Hopefully I can become a Chris Paul, Deron Williams-type of player," Augustin said. "Hopefully the hard work will pay off." • Augustin said he has no idea what his backcourt mate A.J. Abrams is going to do about staying in the draft. Abrams wasn't invited to the Orlando pre-draft camp. • Regardless, Augustin said the Longhorns have a shot to do some damage again in the Big 12. Augustin said the reason he believes so much in the Longhorns is the work ethic of Damion James and Justin Mason. "They're the two hardest working guys, the first ones in the gym, the last ones to leave and they do all the dirty work," Augustin said.</div> ESPN
I used to love watching Augustin in college. He's such a good and entertaining player. If he doesn't go by the Nets' pick, I'd be shocked. He's definitely worthy of top ten IMO.
Augustine will be a good player, he'll fit well in the D'antoni system...but I don't see the Knicks taking him, I think their eying the Italian Gallinari, or Anthony Randolph

Augustin is the perfext player for them</div> yeah, I can see the Italian being a bust, and is it just me, or for some reason I see maybe Chris Bosh type of player in Anthony Randolph at it's best? But anyway, yeah, Augustine will be the best fit for us, but knowing the Knicks, they'll go the whole opposite way and draft or trade their pick away & a player for something stupid like Jermaine O'neal lol
