Soooo it was prom on friday and a freshman on a college basketball team in the Big East was there, and after prom people get houses down the shore rented and go for the weekend and again he was there. So me and my friend where just going from house to house partying it up with everyone and we run into the player, who was clearly and admittingly high. With all the things said about Josh Howard is this wrong for a up and coming player? We asked him if he was going pro and he said it was a defenite, and i agree but do you think drug use will hold him back? And do some of you feel its a double standard how everyone can go out and drink and smoke its not that big of a issue to everyone but when a college or pro does it its a huge deal?
its his life. he's gonna make the decisions that shape it no matter what. the only people that should care are his trainers, or for a pro, the people that are paying him millions. hes just a kid though so who cares? being a teenager is about experimenting and learning things for yourself. i think another thing that most people misunderstand, is that people have been using drugs since they were discovered, and that not everyone who use drugs are bad people. he could smoke or drink, or whatever and still be a cool kid, and level headed. however, many people who have emotional, or anger issues use drugs as a way of coping with life. So... i guess it just all depends on what kind of person he is. i personally could care less what he does. he will still be a great baller no matter what if thats what he wants.
As long as he doesn't get suspended for using drugs (like Chris Anderson), and if it doesn't make him a terrible basketball player or mess up the team, then who cares.

Hanging around a major HS and AAU circuit growing up, I've always said that on this board. Just the other day, my friend who's a running back for a C-USA football team came over to my house high on lucy. Players' on the court performances are rarely affected by their off the court habits, unless their off the court habits are addictions, or other extremes. Realizing that is just apart of maturing your perspective on what athletics are I guess.
