The Giants have about six million bucks that was earmarked for Michael Strahan and they don't need Shockey. Miami needs offensive weapons and Shockey is Mr. Miami. These two have been at the top of the trade rumor charts for the whole off-season. Now they can both move on.
Do we really need another DE, though? I like the way Reese brings pass rushers in through the draft. We don't have to pay as much and they get to grow through our system. I don't know what to make of the Shockey situation though.

And there is a bit of a leadership void that Taylor can step right in and fill. It seems like a perfect fit. You know he would love to come here.
It certainly would make us a scarier team. We'd have arguably a better pass rush than last season. I'd still to prefer to trade Shock for draft picks/prospects, though (if we do).

New Orleans wanted him and Sean Payton is his biggest fan but they wouldn't give what the Giants wanted. Shockey is a great player, but he is made of glass. I just feel that since there are so few teams that could take on Taylor and even fewer that make sense for him to go to, it is like a "perfect storm" of a situation. I completely made this up, though, so there's probably not even a remote possibility this will happen.
