Also, don't underestimate Harris and Carter's defense. They're both no worse than Billups & Hamilton. Gallinari, on the other hand, is a huge question mark...while Bargnani has very little defensive ability.

Dumpy, why not? Frank's not as bad of a coach as you make him out to be. Remember, he did start Sean Williams for awhile. He did it pretty fast too. And Sean Williams came in having "character issues" and a bad rep. Gallinari's biggest asset is supposed to be his bball IQ. Frank would be giddy with him. Should be at least. @Ace: If Bargnani is in Nets uniform as NI hopes he will be, it means NJ traded RJ to Toronto. There really isn't anyone at projected 10 pick that can has a chance of helping us more than counting on Sean's maturation or Krstic' healthy return. Besides, if NJ drafts Gallinari it means they're trading RJ. I'm all up for it by now. I like RJ, but basically... maybe it's just time for a change.
Gallinari could certainly start at some point in the season. I guess I'm focusing on becoming the starter right out of spring training, or whatever it's called.
I'd love to trade RJ for a pick in next year's draft, bench help, and cap relief, if we draft Gallinari.
Hi everybody, i'm an italian guy (sorry for my english). I come from Milano and i saw danilo palying a lot of times. He's great! He's not too athletic as you all said (is there a white 2.06m basketball player athletic?) but he has a great ball handling, great shot, great imprevedibilty (it seems he's going to shoot and he dunks, it seems he's going to dunk and he shoots) and expecially great team-leading! He's only 19 (20 in august) but he's the real leader of Armani Jeans. In each difficult moment of the game ball to gallinari... I think that he's young and that he has to learn how to play in NBA, but i think that after a first period of training he'll become a great basketball player. And he's not like bargnani (great hand but no strong enought, he should play small fly not center!). Danilo is strong, not too tall but great physics! Bye
Thanks for that.. At least we have someone who's actually seen him play more than once or twice..question though... How do you pretend to shoot and then dunk? If let's say you are shooting a 3 pointer? Lol me and my imagination... Carry on.

He's very skilled, fearless, a good leader. Definitely not just a soft European.</div> Thanks... have you seen him play? </div> Yup, a couple of times the past season in the Euroleague. Same for Batum. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Where is his potential? He's not athletic at all and from what I've seen, the way he takes it to the cup is wayy too soft for the NBA. He can shoot but I don't think he's a pure shooter. I just can't stand foreign players (Especially European)</div> He's definitely not athletic, there's no argument on that subject. Gallinari is an excellent floor general, he's huge for a point guard and still has great handles and passing skills, and superb court vision. Don't you think he can potentially be a match-up nightmare for all 30 teams? Obviously, he still needs to work on his game and add weight, but unlike many other European prospects, he's not a 4 or a 5 so weight isn't a huge issue for him. He's aggressive, but silky mooth; he makes driving to the basket look easy, which may give you the impression that he's soft. Instead of ignorantly hating him for no reason, wait 'till you see the kid play some games in the league before judging him. I'm not his biggest fan either, but there's no ignoring his talent. </div> Ok so he's a huge PG? Did we not just get Devin Harris? He would be a matchup nightmare for all 30 teams if he could actually adjust to the NBA and prove that he's got talent (which I really don't think he has). I'm not ignorantly hating him for no reason. I haven't watched any of his games live or anything but from the videos and articles I've seen on him he's not worth a lottery pick at all. He's farrrrrrrr from silky smooth he's so mechanical in the lane it's ridiculous. If he brings it to the cup like that in the NBA he'll learn his lesson once the ball ends up in the 5th row. I know these player comparisons aren't always reliable but he's being called a best case Hedo Turkoglu! Would you really waste a lottery pick on Hedo? The Nets are very interested in him but I think it is partly for the wrong reasons. I think they are looking at him b/c they heard he has talent and is the top foreign prospect so he's worth a shot, but I think a big part of it is just that Jersey is mad Italian and so is Brooklyn and they have noticed that about 4 people show up for the home games now. I think he's a strong possiblity for the #10 pick but I really don't think he's worth it nor do I think he'll ever be much more than a Boki Nachbar.
You know what, I'm having a random slight change of heart. I do like Danilo's size and build, his passing ability, his shot is decent, and I love his confidence. Confidence is a lot to me and he does really show a lot of confidence on the floor. Still iffy on him and don't think he should be a lottery pick, but I'm starting to accept that he very well could be the pick at 10.

First, he seems like a good guy, his father may have been a basketball player also, and he isn't cocky. He has a nice release, but he doesn't seem like a great dribbler. He seems to dribble high, and seems on the verge of losing control of the ball when he drives to the hoop. Does anyone else get that impression?
