Did we not just get Devin Harris? He would be a matchup nightmare for all 30 teams if he could actually adjust to the NBA and prove that he's got talent (which I really don't think he has). I'm not ignorantly hating him for no reason. I haven't watched any of his games live or anything but from the videos and articles I've seen on him he's not worth a lottery pick at all. He's farrrrrrrr from silky smooth he's so mechanical in the lane it's ridiculous. If he brings it to the cup like that in the NBA he'll learn his lesson once the ball ends up in the 5th row. I know these player comparisons aren't always reliable but he's being called a best case Hedo Turkoglu! Would you really waste a lottery pick on Hedo? The Nets are very interested in him but I think it is partly for the wrong reasons. I think they are looking at him b/c they heard he has talent and is the top foreign prospect so he's worth a shot, but I think a big part of it is just that Jersey is mad Italian and so is Brooklyn and they have noticed that about 4 people show up for the home games now. I think he's a strong possiblity for the #10 pick but I really don't think he's worth it nor do I think he'll ever be much more than a Boki Nachbar.</div> I doubt the Nets are putting too much stock in the Italian fan thing. 1st - Italians are more into soccer than basketball 2nd - you'll only see an impact in attendance if he's really good and makes a difference Doubt they would risk a lottery pick on a player simply because he's Italian and they could sell an extra 50 to 100 tickets on that alone. It's peanuts to them. </div> Hey then I have an idea to help sell tickets in NJ: Draft Danilo at #10 Draft Omer Asik at #21 Trade Devin Harris for Yi Jianlian & #8 pick (Westbrook) Trade RJ for Kirilenko Go fetch a player from Germany and see if there are any circassians that can play basketball I think we'd be set to sell some tickets. Maybe even fill up 2/3 of the arena every now and then. Wow! Trade </div> My post just finished saying that I didn't think drafting an Italian just because he's Italian would sell that many extra tickets. So I don't understand the quote and sarcastic post attached. Did I not make my ideas clear?
Well, honestly Gallinari is growing on me. Yea he's not very athletic but he knows how to play. He doesnt seem to be one dimensional in any way shape or form, has a great outside shot as well as mid range. Now that being said this draft looks really really weak to me outside the top few picks. I would take Gallinari at number 10 if available and the only way i wouldnt is if somehow Darrell Arthur was there. Then we would have somthing to think about because he's the only big outside of Beasly i would consider in the lottery. If Arthur isn't there then use the pick on Gallinari, and if we'r that desperate to get another bust of a big man use the 21 on it and pray, otherwise i'd draft CDR which would mean trading away RJ eventually for cap space.

If we are gonna take a wing I hope it's Rush though 10 would be a little high for him. Still, he is athletic and an excellent defender to go along with his excellent jump shot. Added bonus: he has the length and explosiveness to play either the 2 or 3. I really like this guy if we want to get an wing at #10.

Something like RJ, KVH, Swift for LaFrentz, Pryzbilla, Outlaw, and #13. But I don't see the Nets taking on another rookie. Now maybe we trade down from #10 to #13 and do that trade but also gain James Jones. If Portland wants Augustine, and he's still on the board, that could be interesting. But then we wouldn't have a need for Rush. Maybe Arthur at #13. Portland, Toronto and Lakers are the only teams I see the Nets dealing Jefferson too and to Toronto within the division seems unlikely.
if trade RJ i want at least lamarcus back from the blazers im not askin for roy but i lamarcus is gettin better every year and he has a solid 18-20 footer
Correction: Arn Tellem is Gallinari's agent, not David Falk. Same basic idea: big time agent with some pull. It looks like Gallinari wants a guarantee by Monday, the day international players can pull out. He said he and his team will reassess on Monday...following today's workout in New York. They have until midnight.

Wish it were so but I don't think they would, especially with how much Lamarcus makes in comparison to RJ.

I don't see the Knicks giving him a gaurantee or taking him. If he pulls out on Monday that means Kiki Thorn didn't give him a gaurantee. If he stays... that means he becomes a Net come draft time.

why do u guys not like danillo? i was watchin his youtube and he knows how to play the game... granted its all highlights... but still he knows how to play... who would u guys draft a ten? RUSH? JORDAN? cmon danillo can actually play a role in the team next year... if we draft rush he might not even play under lawrence frank

His intangibles are awesome (bball IQ, intensity, etc...), but without those missing elements I think his intagibles will not get a chance to shine that brightly on the NBA stage. If he can bulk up and learn to play the PF position, ala Nowitzki, then he will have much more success. Also, looking at the highlights I think the competition was weak. Not saying he's not good, but it made him look even better. Against NBA defenses he wouldn't be able to do half of those dribbling through the lane moves. They don't seem to care much for defense in the Italian league.

So, Gallinari came out and said that it's Jersey or bust. He's staying in Europe if it's not Jersey (or New York, but they're not blowing the #6 pick on him). Dave D floated an idea that I love, which is that we spend #10 on someone else, and then take Gallinari at #21. I suppose it's a bit risky, but I'm not THAT crazy about the kid, and the potential payoff is pretty big. What do you guys think?
Taking him at 21 would be pretty funny, but that's not going to happen at all. I mean look at Yi last year; the Bucks still grabbed him.

For Yi it was NBA or back to the factory making Giorgio Armani suits and the Chinese national basketball team on the weekends.
I was thinking the other night which top 10 prospect from europe has actually not been a bust in the past 20 years? I can't make out one name yet.
