Ok, so summer has started and I am looking forward to putting on around 15 pounds in around 3 months. There are two supplements I want to take, but I cant decide. There is Mass XXX and Weight Gainer 2200 Gold. Both help you put on fast weight while working out but I am not sure which one to take. I want to workout at the same time while taking these things and I want to gain weight. Any help on which one to take, and also what time of the day should I take them
Skip the chemical enhancement, take a multi-vitamin, eat a high protein diet and bust your ass in the weight room....
if you're under 17-18 years old, let your body fill out naturally, skip the powders. eat, eat a lot, 4-6 meals a day of GOOD food. Lots of lean meats, loads of veggies and fruits, pasta, whole grain breads, cheese, eggs (eggs have the good type of fat in them). Working out will burn off any potential fat from the carbs. Oh and make it fresh.. none of that prepared crap. If it's frozen, leave it at the store. cook your own foods. Skip the Drive thru's ice-cream, doritos, chocolate bars etc and you'll put on good mass. Heck you can have a cheat here and there and have junk, but keep the majority of your diet to the four food groups. Me I love raw veggies and stuff, but I gotta have a dip, so I try low fat salad dressings like ranch to dip my carrots, brocolli and peppers in.
Thing is im trying to gain weight fast, and by taking these supplements it'll help me along with whatever I eat. I am looking to gain naturally but adding supplements would make it faster. So yeah thats just where I am trying to get at.
Faster is not better....body development takes time....in the end, your better off doing it with a protein infused diet and hard work....If you are dedicated to a sport enough that you think you need to gain weight to play it, realize that shortcuts will not pay off for you, only work ethic will win out in the end....and take advantage of the energy and muscle building hormones that young men have, because that wont last forever....

He wants to look older than an 8th grader. He wants to fill his body in to fit his pornstache. Oh man, wait til Brian gets a view of this thread. Ok for reals, Let your body fill in naturally. All those supplements work, but it's not good. You're too young to worry about adding to much weight.

If you are between 16 and 18 and have fast metabolism shakes won't work anyway, trust me. I use to take them and I would gain about 10 pounds in the first week and a half, then loose 15 pound after that, while I'm still working out and taking 3 shakes a day, a protein bar along with a high protein diet. You're best bet is to let you're body fill out first, let you're metabolism catch up. You can still work out and eat good, take a multi-vitamin (that's not going to help gain weight but it's good to take one anyway). When you're body fills out (keep in mind males grow up to the age of 21) start adding a shake in and work you're way up to a higher protein shake while taking amino acid pills.
Umm, it would be nice if you guys could stick to the topic, those posts weren't necessary. Anyways, I have 3 free months of summer before school started and I wanted to put on around 15 pounds because I know by the time school comes I wouldnt have much time to workout as I hard as I can within these 3 months. I mean I am dedicating myself and time towards gaining weight but I want to work as hard as I can within 3 months. But as I've heard from most people, eating right is the best thing to do. I am looking forward to eating more meats and vegetables and fruits. But I just wanted to know if by adding Mass XXX would it help to gain weight a little faster. There is no rush but I am just asking if it would help along with what I am already eating. And ofcourse working out 3-4 times a week.

If you're not close to you're goal by the end of the 2nd month you can add it in but only drink one a day at the beginning and work you're way up.
Well gaining weight is really easy. If you eat at McDonalds everyday and order like 5 double cheeseburgers for every meal, you can probably pass your goal in one month time rather than 3. I haven't heard much of the need to use weightgainer, you should be able to get enough carbs and calories through everyday meals. If you aren't just eat bigger portions of pasta, bread, rice, carbs. If you are working out a lot then probably about 0.5 grams of protein for every pound of bodyweight you have is a good amount approximately. Later on maybe upping to 0.7 grams of protein per pound. So if you weighed say 150 pounds then you would want to eat about 75 to grams of protein per day. If you have an average size burger patty (1/4 pounder or 4 oz patty) that would be about 30 grams of protein. Even slices of bread have protein (2 slices = 4-5 grams), having 3 eggs in the morning will get you 18 grams of protein. Having 3 ounce portion of fish/chicken/beef gives 21 grams of protein. If you have say either 4oz fish/4oz meat/4oz chicken/4eggs for 2 of the 3 meals of the day for everyday. That would give you approximately 60 grams of protein everyday add on 4 slices of bread (8-10 grams) gets you to 70 grams. Rice and beans are good too. You can use protein powder to add extra protein if you feel it's necessary, or on days that you don't eat meat. Protein powders and supplements probably aren't as healthy as getting them from natural sources, but they do supply protein. However going nuts on protein through protein shakes can have bad health effects. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>High Protein Diet - exceeding the daily maximum protein requirement Most people meet their daily protein requirements by many times over. In addition there is a misconception that a high protein diet is helpful for training. High protein diets do not help improve muscle strength or aid in training. In fact, high protein diets can be harmful to your health. There is far more risk to your health from high protein diet than from low protein diet. Proteins have a high amount of nitrogen. When nitrogen is broken down in the liver it creates ammonia. Ammonia is poisonous. The increased level of ammonia in the body is harmful to cells and may decrease atheletic performance. Stress on kidneys occurs when more than 2 grams per kilogram of ideal body weight per day is consumed. High levels of protein intake require increased amount of vitamin B6. It is possible to become deficient in vitamin B6 while using a high protein diet. Calcium loss, which leads to osteoporosis, occurs with high levels of protein intake.</div>
Well I'm a toothpick with low stamina looking to put on weight/muscle whatever... -gewd foods(protein bars, cheeses, bananas, water, sunny d, orange juice, um do steak and chicken not fried count?,“?) -lots of exercise(sit-ups, squats, front/lateral raises, treadmill,“?) Do i got it right or wrong??? Yeah, I'm new at the whole exercise thing...:x
Fast food always works for gaining weight, but only if you're working out. I mean cheeseburgers and hamburgers. Not sure about chicken.
What about the opposite of this? Like trying to lose weight and gain muscle. Is it possible to do both at the same time effectively?
