The Cavaliers announced Gibson had them removed in an arthroscopic procedure Tuesday in his hometown of Houston. Gibson's contract with the Cavs is up, but the team is expected to make him a $1 million qualifying offer by the end of the month to make him a restricted free agent July 1. So I wonder how much they'll overpay him contract extension time? I'm betting they'll shell out most of their MLE for him...though I guess that's not too bad, especially if you look at some players who've gotten more.
I'm thinking 5 years for $25m is likely to be what they give him. It should be lower, but he has shown potential to be a game winning player, so a long term deal has to pay him for that
