<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Daniel Gibson had some bone spurs and some loose bodies in the ankle after the injury he suffered against the Indiana Pacers on Feb. 20, which knocked him out for more than a month. The Cavaliers announced Gibson had them removed in an arthroscopic procedure Tuesday in his hometown of Houston.

Gibson's contract with the Cavs is up, but the team is expected to make him a $1 million qualifying offer by the end of the month to make him a restricted free agent July 1. Both the team and Gibson have expressed an interest in reaching a new long-term deal to bring him back.</div>

So I wonder how much they'll overpay him contract extension time? I'm betting they'll shell out most of their MLE for him...though I guess that's not too bad, especially if you look at some players who've gotten more.

I'm thinking 5 years for $25m is likely to be what they give him. It should be lower, but he has shown potential to be a game winning player, so a long term deal has to pay him for that
