So we’ve had a good start to the MMA Pick’em League but it’s time for a new season and a few changes. As of UFC 86, we will be starting from scratch so anyone who joined late will have the chance to compete for top spot. Newcomers, as always, are welcome to join as well. This means the June 21 TUF finals will be the last Pick’em night for Season 1. The Norm: I’ll post the fight card under a Event Name Predictions thread. Reply in this thread your picks for each fight. If you’re like me and like to write an essay for each fight, please do so in another thread. We just want your winning picks in the thread please. The changes: First off, I’m going to make it an MMA pick’em league as we can add Elite XC, WEC and perhaps Affliction cards as well as the usual UFC fight cards. Secondly, I’m going to change the scoring system. This is how it will work: For each bout of the event being contested, you must select the winner of the bout (worth 3 points). If you select the winner correctly, you are eligible for bonus points based on your other picks, including the method of the finish (KO, Sub or Dec - worth 3 points), and the round the fight will end (worth 3 points). Additionally, the fights must be ranked in "Lock Order." Assign every fight a ranking point, from #1 being your least confident, all the way up to the highest number being your most confident. These bonus points are also awarded to you if you choose the correct winner. Here’s an example. ZAE’s Picks from UFC 84 (and points) 11 - B.J. Penn - Sub - Rd2 (<span style="color:#FF0000">3+0+0+11= 14)</span> 10 - Lyoto Machida - Dec <span style="color:#FF0000">(3+3+3+10 = 19)</span> 8 - Wanderlei Silva - KO - Rd3 <span style="color:#FF0000">(3+3+0+8= 14)</span> 7 -Thiago Silva - KO - Rd1 <span style="color:#FF0000">(3+0+3+7 =20)</span> 5 -Wilson Gouveia - KO - Rd3 <span style="color:#FF0000">(0+0+0+0 = 0)</span> 9 - Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou - KO - Rd1 <span style="color:#FF0000">(3+3+3+9=18)</span> 4 - Zenko Yoshida - KO - Rd2 (<span style="color:#FF0000">3+0+0+4= 7)</span> 6 - Toquinho - Sub - Rd2 <span style="color:#FF0000">(3+3+0+6= 12)</span> 3 - Shane Carwin - KO - Rd2 <span style="color:#FF0000">(3+3+0+3= 9)</span> 2 - Jason Tan - Dec <span style="color:#FF0000">(0+0+0+0= 0)</span> 1 - Rich Clementi - KO - Rd 3 <span style="color:#FF0000">(3+0+0+1= 4)</span> Total Score: <span style="color:#FF0000"> 117 points</span> I randomly assigned the ranking order, listed to the left of the fighters name, to ZAE’s picks as obviously we weren’t doing it at the time. UFC 84 Results B.J. Penn def. Sean Sherk by TKO (Unable to Continue) at 5:00, R3 Wanderlei Silva def. Keith Jardine by TKO (Strikes) at 0:36, R1 Goran Reljic def. Wilson Gouveia by TKO (Strikes) at 3:15, R2 Thiago Silva def. Antonio Mendes by Submission (Strikes) at 2:24, R1 Rousimar Palhares def. Ivan Salaverry by Submission (Armbar) at 2:36, R1 Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou def. Kazuhiro Nakamura by TKO (Unable to Continue) at 5:00, R1 Rich Clementi def. Terry Etim by Unanimous Decision, R3 Yoshiyuki Yoshida def. Jon Koppenhaver by Submission (Anaconda Choke) at 0:56, R1 Dong-Hyun Kim def. Jason Tan by TKO (Strikes) at 0:25, R3 Shane Carwin def. Christian Wellisch by TKO (Strikes) at 0:44, R1 Rankings will be based on score, I’ll toss in the W/L record and % as well to see how ppl are doing straight up. In the event a fight is a no contest, as was the case at Elite XC for the Lawler vs Smith fight, everyone gets Zero points and it’s not counted against the W/L record. Eventually I’d like to have a grand prix matching your score going up against another person, but I think we’d need about 20 ppl before we try anything like that. let me know if you're in for season 2!

I have less points than Speeds and Zae yet I am in 7th. Hooray for clerical errors! I think my score is supposed to be at 64.

The points are keeping me and lavalamp up there, otherwise we got the most losses. Congrats to Mamba.
I have the best record and pick percentage, but Points are killing me . That damn Anthony Johnson fiasco, complete BS, I could have like more points off of that fight. Oh well, I'm still in it, starting at the Next EliteXC, valo makes his rise to the top.
Here's a look at the upcoming S2 Pick'em League schedule Season 2: #1 UFC 86 #2 Affliction:Banned/UFC Fight Night 14 #3 Elite XC - July 26 #4 WEC 35 - Aug 3 #5 UFC 87 - Aug 9 #6 UFC 88 - Sep 6 #7 UFC Fight Night 15 - Sept 17 #8 Elite XC:Heat - Oct 4 #9 UFC 89 - Oct18 #10 UFC 90 - Oct 25 (it's almost like Christmas, yet 2 months early ) S2 MMA pick'em GRAND PRIX begins WEC 36 - Nov 5
okay with Elite XC announcing their next card on CBS being Oct 4, that makes Afflictions card in Oct the 10th event of season 2. that means the Grand Prix starts with UFC 89 on Spike TV and continues the following week with UFC 90. so in a week we'll go from approx 10 competitors to 4 in a week.
updated!! CRIKEY!! 11 points seperate first and sixth good job guys, it's a tense season, but when it's all said and done, we know who's going to be the #1 seed going into the grand prix (Hint he's a fan of the world champion Boston Celtics, GSP and has ALL of the sigs )

I am actually a Karo Parisyan fan(those judo throw's are the coolest,) a fan of the Magic, and have only one sig(the greatest flying knee ever.) But thank's for recomending me as the future winner.
I wouldnt want to be spot 2 or 3 heading into the Grand Prix. I looks like ZAE and I dont miss that much on our picks.
