If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing his covenant, And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded; ... Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die. -- Deuteronomy, Chapter 17:2-3,5 There is a good chance you are doing the work of God, as the odds are you are killing a non-Christian. Would you evangelicals do this if the odds are that you are following the Bible and killing perhaps a Muslim or Hindu?
First, your projected hated for other religions on evangelicals is probably a more accurate reflection of your hated for evangelicals. I think most Christians would say that the teaching of Jesus Christ in the New Testament supercede any instruction that comes from the Old Testament. I've never once heard a preacher teach that Christians should perform acts of violence in order to further the kingdom of God. Yes, evangelicals believe that Christ meant it when he said that no one would come to the father except through Him. How does believing that mean that evangelicals must hate people would observe other religions or no religion? It doesn't. Evangelical Christians are called to love others with the love of Jesus Christ with the hopes of converting them to the faith. Why? Because Evangelical Christians believe that people's lives are bettered by having a relationship with the God that loves them. You can agree or disagree. You can bring up examples of failed or misguided Christians that are an embarrassment to the faith. You can ridicule and belittle Evangelical Christians if you want. However, if you really hate Evangelical Christians so much that you promote falsehoods about them and treat them unfairly, you should check your liberal card. My understanding of liberals is that they believe in tolerance and diversity. Personally, I think liberals are full of crap because they are really only tolerant of viewpoints that match their own.
I wasn't meaning to go off on a diatribe. Just trying to give people different reasons to press the button! Although, I don't have a problem with exposing the hypocrisy of evangelicals. All of my evangelical friends are in support of the Iraq war because they think killing Muslims is good. I don't think killing innocent people because they are of a different faith is right. There is no reason for me to tolerate that. Also, if they believe on thing in the Bible is false, how can they trust that the rest of it is the truth? Have to love their hate towards Muslim I don't hate evangelicals, I just wish they would stop hating so much, and stop sinning so much, and get on the right path.
1. I find it difficult to believe that your evangelical friends think that killing Muslims is a good thing. I know a lot of evangelicals and every single one of them would think that is disgusting. Evangelicals may want to convert Muslims to the Christian faith and that may turn some people off, but to say evangelicals think the killing of good Muslims as a good thing is absurd. It sounds like your friends belong to some whacked out sect or you might be misrepresenting their beliefs. 2. Your video doesn't prove evangelical hate. First, who made it? Was it even an evangelical group? It seems like the core concern of the video is possible deception by Barack Obama. If Obama was a practicing Muslim then he should be upfront about it. What's the problem with wanting politicians to be honest for a CHANGE? 3. Are you as critical with your own shortcomings and the shortcomings of other groups as you are with the hypocrasy of evangelicals? It sounds to me like an axe is grinding here and it has to do with more than some absurd notion that evangelicals want Muslims dead.
