    If anyone calls me a band wagoner, F U C K YOU. I'm a realist.

You guys gave us one hell of a series and capped it off by coming back from 24 down in game 5 to pretty much slam the door on our championship aspirations. No team has ever come back from 3-1, and I just don't think the Lakers can pull it off now.

What happened? Lamar disappeared, Phil didn't make adjustments, etc..we can make excuses, but we were simply outplayed. When you guys had to, you guys played LOCK DOWN defense and scored. You guys hit the big shots, you guys made the big plays, you guys deserved to win.

Did I believe we could sweep you guys? No. Did I think it was going to be a piece of cake? No. Did I post the opposite of this? Yes. I was being a fan of my team that I love and will always love. If you would've asked me to be rational, I would've told you this would be a hard fought series and the better team would prevail.

Odom has shown his true colors. After coming out strong in game 4, he disappeared at half. One quarter of great basketball doesn't salvage a piece of shit series. Gasol was a non-factor, and Kobe was locked down by Pierce.

Again, if you call me a band wagoner, you don't know shit. Congratulations Boston fans, we will see you again this time, next year.

What if LA wins the next game? They put pressure on Boston to win game 6 at home or face an elimination game.

    Bostone in 7?

I still want to see a game 7. GO LAKER!

I will still be rooting for L.A., die hard. I'll still make obnoxious comments in the game thread...but I'm a realist.

the Machine plays with much more heart and emotion than Odom.

I'm over Odom, completely. He can't handle the pressure of being in the limelight. He couldn't handle being Kobe's go to guy and now he couldn't handle the pressure of the NBA Finals. Sign and trade him for Artest, please. Get his ass off of this team. He has shown his true colors numerous times, yet we all fell for him after we acquired Gasol. Looks like the Odom post-Gasol is still the same as Odom pre-Gasol...worthless when it counts.

Statistically and historically, we're done. No team has ever come back from down 3-1 in NBA history, and very few teams in SPORTS history has ever come back from 3-1. I'll still root for my team and still think we have a shot, but the odds are definitely against us and our backs are most certainly against the wall.

    This is getting ugly.

Damn Mamba, are you like mad at me or something? I would never call you a bandwagoner, it seemed like you were talking about me. And if I did, why would you take it this personally? Lol seriously.

And no I would never congratulate the team itself, maybe the fans though.

Personally I'm not a realist either, there's no point in that.

I'm a fan of NBA players and not NBA teams. Personally, I think it's, well, not neccesarilly stupid, but something close to that to actually get behind and be loyal to an NBA team. I don't want to start an argument on that, but with the money, the commercialism, the lack of enthusiam from the fans in the lower bowls, and the lack of loyaly from players, I never thought the NBA could even touch the NCAA, and I still don't, especially after the whole reff scandal.

So with that said, I entetered this series sort of rooting for Boston, simply because I really wanted to see Garnett and Allen win titles, specifically Garnett. It's crazy that a player who is arguably the best power forward to play the game (maybe you could say it's Duncan, but it's either him, KG, McHale, Malone, or Barkley without a doubt), has never won a ring, and I was really rooting for him to get that ring as a person.

On the other end of the perspective, I feel like Kobe has the chance to go down as the greatest player who ever played the game (although as Moo2k4 and I were talking about on AIM, his durability will play a large role in that, because as one of the first high school players in the league, he's been in the league just as long as say, Ray Allen, so his body and performance could diminish quicker than we think), so I wanted to see Kobe win a title without Shaq to cement his legacy for the people like me who have objectively seen him as one of the greatest ever, if not the greatest, and those who, like me, think this year should have been his third or fourth MVP season.

So either way, as a fan of players and not teams, I had a positive way to spin this series, and while I don't feel it's quite as over (never sleep on a team led by Kobe), I'm very happy for Garnett, very happy. I'm from the generation that started not watching but being a diehard of basketball right before the lockout, so Garnett entered the league right when I started watching intently and has been in it until now, so this is really a long time coming for general fans like me.

Although, you have to ask yourself, if this was in February/March'ish, and I asked you, could the Lakers win three straight games, one at home and two on the road, against good competition, the answer from most people would be, "Hell yeah! It'll be tough if the competition's good, but this is arguably the best team in basketball. Of course they'll be able to win three games in a row, against anybody." So I wouldn't ditch hope as easily as a lot of Laker fans seem to be doing.

I follow the NBA for the individual players.

After seeing "my" local team win a title two years ago, I thought it was meaningless and I held no emotional connection with them. I don't care about uniforms, I just want to see Kobe succeed. Maybe there might be some exception in the future (Lakers are a cool brand at least), but I'm not sure what will happen after the Kobe era (I'm not a big fan of Bynum's health, something that pisses off many people around here). The only reason I care about titles is so that I won't have to hear people bitch about so and so not having one, and to see how my favorite players perform with extra games added onto their season.

I still think we can do it. Sometimes we play our best basketball with our backs against the walls. Victory will be even more sweeter if we do manage to win this.

I don't think anybody who's read your posts for a reasonable amount of time thinks you're a bandwagoner or takes your homerish posts too seriously, dude.

I'm still hoping for a Game 7, even though I kinda want the Celtics to win.

how could anyone have the right to call somebody a bandwagoner? i just dont understand this term any longer, any support somebody gives a team is exactly that, the only bandwagoners are those handful of celebrities like paris hilton that turn up to games to look the part. Nobody should be saying it even as a joke, it's not worth reading and not worth posting, keep you personel opinions of each other to yourselves, this is a basketball forum, an intelligent discussion of basketball games should be the focus here, not all these trivial arguments between people who are competing for "who is the biggest, best, most truthful fan". Mamba if anyone has accused you of being a bandwagoner then they are greatly mistaken, dont get worried over this kind of stuff. cant we all put this kind of stuff to rest and just enjoy the fact that we are all able to share our knowledge on the game of basketball freely without being insulted by trivial shit, unrelated to the game? common guys, fukin stop with this shit its boring as hell trying to read and contribute to this forum with this kind of stuff going on. enough is enough.
