<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Video shows NJ state trooper drawing gun on rapper, crew by The Associated Press Friday June 13, 2008, 7:55 AM State police say a plainclothes state trooper was trying to regain control when he drew his gun on rapper Jim Jones and his entourage backstage at Giants Stadium. State police say it happened after Jones' bodyguard assaulted another trooper following the rapper's performance at the "Summer Jam" concert this month. A video posted on the Web site whatspoppin.net shows the trooper, wearing a red T-shirt and Devils cap, pointing the gun with his finger off the trigger. A member of Jones' entourage is heard on the tape saying the trooper didn't identify himself. That led Jones to refer to Sean Bell, who was shot and killed by New York City police. Capt. Al Della Fave tells The Record of Bergen County the troopers identified themselves. Della Fave also says the video fails to show the arrest of Jones' bodyguard. Charles Chandler was accused of grabbing a trooper's face and head for taking pictures.</div> Link to story Link to video. WARNING: Video is graphic and not safe for work
I love how Jones runs away like a little bitch when the cop pulls out his gun, but then when he finds out who the guy is; he acts tough towards him. I thought about becoming a cop, but I don't know if I could take this kind of garbage. I would of iced Jones right there.

You should never put your hands on anybody. When you're an adult, you're supposed to act like an adult. Maybe after this that man will think twice about embarassing himself and assautling someone, much less a NJ state trooper.

Jones' bodygaurd grabbed the face of the officer and shoved him according to police reports. That is assault on a police officer. 2. The Sean Bell incident has been resolved and the cops were proven to be innocent of any charges bought against them in a court of law and also the court of public opinion. Rappers paint a picture of cops in their music to sell records and make money, and it not only demonizes the police, but it also worsens the already sensitive relationship between the Black community and the Police department.

There was no frustration there; he's trying to look like some tough punk. Going at a cop will definitely help his "gangster" persona. The cop made a mistake, but who the hell does Jones think he is by yelling "Do me like Sean Bell!". That's bullshit anyway you look at it. </div> Calling it a mistake is sugarcoating it. There was no reason to pull out the gun, and the cop didn't even identify himself. It's a pretty serious mistake. Jones mentioned Sean Bell because the officers who killed him were undercover also. The trial was only a few weeks ago too, and many, including Jones, aren't too thrilled with the outcome. </div> So, because he's unhappy with the outcome of the case it's okay to treat every cop like a piece of garbage? Like their responsible for Bell's death? Seems like you're sugarcoating it for him a bit, no? It's a separate issue but The Game's new song "Cop Killer" is disgusting. He talks about how every officer stereotypes blacks, but isn't he doing the same thing when it comes to cops. Complete hypocrite. </div> Why do you say he treats every cop like a piece of garbage? The undercover cop pulled out a gun for no reason and didn't identify himself. I still don't see how Jones was wrong for anything. </div> Besides acting like a 12 year old in public and berating a police officer who was assaulted by one of his bodygaurds, Jim Jones did absolutely nothing wrong. </div> Jones' bodyguard told the officer/fan not to take pictures. He was not assaulted. The officer had no right to pull out a gun, especially without identifying himself. I think there should be more criticism of this, especially considering the Sean Bell incident, which is still a sensitive issue here in New York. Jim Jones said "do me like Sean Bell" to show his frustration for doing his job improperly. Instead of focusing on Jim Jones, why not focus on the real issue - yet another policeman not performing his duty properly. </div> 1. </div> Obviously there are conflicting reports about it. Jones’ camp says the bodyguard did no wrong. But that’s irrelevant. Regardless, the officer was in the wrong for not showing his I.D. Plain and simple. That’s the real issue at hand. By focusing on Jim Jones “acting like a 12-year-old” you’re really missing the point. The Sean Bell incident is far from “resolved”. There are numerous people in New York City- Black, White, Asian, Hispanic, etc. - who are still outraged by the results of the case. Mayor Bloomberg himself said “I can tell you that it is to me unacceptable or inexplicable how you can have 50-odd shots fired.” The Sean Bell case is still very much an issue today. In the case of Jim Jones the policeman wrongfully pulled out a gun without identifying himself - just like in the Sean Bell case. If you say the black community already has a “sensitive relationship” with the police, how does it get any better if a policeman fails to do his job properly (again)?
