And it is more than just being better than the rest of his draft class--Boone has some legit skill around the basket. </div> i know boone has done better then expected and he certainly is servicable but he's filled out his potential, IMO. he's basically a clean up guy who will look great next to a low post threat. i was impressed with boone somewhat but not to the extent of some. he had his games where he cleaned up the mess and had 20 pts but he was often soft in the paint and still got outmuscled very often. hopefully he can add some serious muscle. point being, our bigs can only score one way, pick and roll. we need a big we can throw the ball into and he can create, (Love), otherwise we're stuck with the same crappy offense

He is also a terrific offensive rebounder, which is very important when you have a bunch of jumpshooters on the team. One thing that is frustrating is that when he is beat on defense, or finds himself out of postion, he just seems to give up instead of trying to do something productive until the play is completely over. There have been references to the fact that he is somewhat of a perfectionist and is hard on himself--you can actually read his facial expressions and see him cursing at himself inside his head while the ball is still in play. I think that is the most important thing for him to work on. He can be a plus post defender, but he is just an absolute liability when that happens, which is far too often. He's a good kid, though. He'll be allright. He was probably miscast as a starter. But as a 20-minute a night reserve, he would be a positive contributor. He's not one of the Nets' problems.
ya boone isnt the problem.. its our BENCH... and our offensive post game and our open jump shooters who cant make it when they are O P E N. it was hard to watch boki, marcus, or even hassell or krstic get all these great looks... and still plank their shots :/
