Even though I'm a Laker fan, I can't help but just be enamored by the hustle and defense Posey has displayed.

He said he is going to opt out at the end of the summer, and we NEED defense. Plus, of course, he's a knock down shooter.

    LET'S SIGN HIM, MLE.

Meh, I personally despise Posey. He's taken too many cheap shots on people for me to think anything of him. C'mon, anyone else remember when he tackled Kirk Hinrich a couple years back? Crap like that makes me despise him.

Yeah, that annoys the hell outta me. Also, AFTER the whistle is blown and a foul is called...he'll go out of his way to foul a player, for pretty much no reason other than the fact that he's an ass (note the near - fight that occured between him and Odom). Didn't that warrant a technical a few years back?

Yup, should have been a technical in my opinion. But apparently throwing someone to the ground after the play isn't a bad thing to do. Speaking of that, how about Sam Cassell throwing Fisher(?) to the ground after the jump ball was called? I thought that was damn cheap, but that could just be my bias.

That was Sasha that he threw to the ground. But Sasha is weak and he over acted it.

I love Posey's hustle, If Ariza can develop a better 3 point shot he can be like Posey.

Yeah, I thought that was ridiculous. I don't know how the hell you get away with something like that. How the hell do you get away with that, but then Kobe says something to the official about a missed call, and he gets a technical?

Seems like there's a bit of a double-standard going on here...

Peresonally, it's seemed that way most of the Finals. I've seen on two occasions where a Laker has shown a little emotion because of not getting a call in front of a ref and got T-d up for it. Last night Radman did, and then I believe it was game one when Kobe did. They slapped their arm looking for a foul in front of the ref and the ref gave them technicals. However, Posey can get away with fouling after a play is over every time and Cassell can get away with throwing someone to the ground? Whatever. Although, to their credit, last night was a decently officiated game, nothing like the homecourt advantage the Celtics get.

I've kinda noticed that ever since that one-sided game 2, it's been pretty evenly called since than, except for a half in game 3....homecourt doesn't account for much in the end [IMG]

anyway notice that all the games so far have been decided by 10pts or less....yet alot of people keep saying we're going to get blown out (and vice versa). It's been really enjoyable to watch these 4th quarters....its fun, it really is.

Posey is the kind of guy you would love to have on your team, but hate to go up against.

I wouldn't mind Posey, but there's no room on this roster for him. Like Jumpman already mentioned, Trevor Ariza could be a James Posey type player (minus the dirty plays) if he develops a jump shot. And from all accounts, I've read that he has been working really hard in that area

It's shown too, from what I saw unless I missed something. Ariza's jumpshot has looked a lot better than it used to and he's been making them to boot.

Exactly. Hes the kind of role player you want on your team and his value goes up in the playoffs. Yeah, hes a cheap shot artist, pulls a lot of bullshit moves after the whistle and is just generally very annoying but he does the things that Champions have to do. Hes sort of like a more modern Bruce Bowen. All those cheap shots and everything are effective because they set the tone for physicality in the game. By him being overly-physical it gets in the Lakers heads and it gets in the refs' heads because after that they won't call as many ticky tack fouls and they'll let them play. Kind of like the old school Pistons' philosophy where if you foul on every play they can't call them all. If Posey is railing guys left and right then he'll be able to play physical defense and not be called for a foul. Not to mention the Lakers are gonna think twice when they go in the paint because Posey could come out of nowhere and clothesline them in mid-air. Yeah, its cheap and annoying but hes doing what it takes to win.

crap like that is why I like him, lol. I hated seeing Posey go when he was here in Houston. JVG even said he's the type of guy that other teams hate (because of his fouling after fouls, lol), but who coaches love....he's a cold blooded shooter also. Personally the lakers need a guy with some toughness to offset the likes of Gasol, Odom, Radmanovic, etc......you'd be insane if you don't think the lakers will try to pick him up.
