    Lost in the Gallinari update

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Dave D)</div><div class='quotemain'>Of course, this could change on Friday, when the Nets bring in noted small forward Joe Alexander of Rod Thorn University. If they fall in love with him - and he's 10 times the athlete Gallinari will ever be - the deadline will have passed, all bets are off, and Gallinari will likely be drafted by a team he doesn't want to play for. Contact sport.</div>

An absolute freak of nature. He'll probably be gone by 10 though.

Reports are that hes a workout warrior as well with an unreal work ethic and a very high basketball IQ....put that all together, and I see a guy thats going to play at a high level for 12 years in the league....Im hoping our mock draft comes true and he ends up in Orlando....

Yeah I'm very cautious about "athletes." Let me see this guy drain some mid range shots before I get excited.

Although there are some clips of his workouts and his vertical jump is amazing, it's like he can double jump

If we draft him, I vote we call him Mario. Or Super Mario. Or MariJoe. Or Spiderman.

If we don't draft him, we call him Wario.

I'd absolutely hate it if we took Alexander.

I just want someone who can run like a deer, play stifling defense and hit free throws. I don't care if he can shoot. Maybe Westbrook is my guy.

I thought we wanted shooters or is that our need at 21 rather than wasting a pick on another big?

Nets love athletes, hate shooters...and it's why the bench has sucked.

I'm just saying that if I had to choose between a shooter with average athleticism and no D, and a shut-down defender who can take it to the rim in a blur, I'll take the latter.

I'd go for Alexander if we were trading Jefferson. I think Dan will have the better career but I think Joe's rookie season will be above average.

Well then shoot, wouldn't you rather go for long-term sustained performance for a young Nets team?

But say we land a Brand or something, we could use a Jefferson 2001 performance off the bench, you know?

Alexander will continue to develop he's only been playing basketball for 5 years. He'll probably never be a pure shooter but i think it will improve. Fisher came into the league with the ugliest jumper and not he's one of the best in the game from deep. 10 Alexander 21 Hickson 40 European big guy who will be wasted and ship Jefferson and Marcus out with some other crap for a big man? We're set, just sign some shooters (Vujacic)
