In Ford's latest mock draft, after the deadline, there were a few interesting things. He had Gallinari going to us at 10, stating that some Nets people have told him that they thought he could become a Dirk-type forward (I don't really know why). He then has us taking DeAndre Jordan at 21. In NetsDaily's latest mock round-up, Jordan was the most common option. I know most of you don't want him (BOCTAOE) because you think he'll bust, as do I. But I was wondering about this, at what point would you take him? Even if you expect him to be terrible, you have to consider him due to his incredible potential. It didn't seem likely that he would be available at 21, but his stock has been falling a lot lately, so it seems more possible now. If he is there, do you consider him at that point, do you take him without hesitation, or do you just let him keep going by?

Redick. Eventually he went at #11--and he was still overpicked. what does BOCTAOE mean?
Comes a point in time where you need to add solid guys you know will contribute something to the team and not draft all guys with "potential".

Thinking generally I wouldn't be opposed to taking him with the 21st pick in the draft. However looking specifically with what we could face this year, I'd much rather have CDR, Hickson, (many others) than this guy. Here's a popular theme about this year: we'll just have to wait and see.

You dont pass up on Jordan with the 10th pick. He had a great workout and almost sure that will be our pick if he is available. No way they pass on him

Gallinari reminds me of Zoran Planinic...tall, good fundamentals, ball handling abilty, good overall shooting mechanics, can play mulitple positions, very versitle...defensively suspect, lacking athleticism, inconsistent long range jumper, overrated...

Combines great athleticism with good intelligence. Very smooth player with offensive skill and court sense. Great understanding of the game and plays under control and with great competitiveness. Runs the floor very well and can get off the floor well and finish. Can actually create off the dribble and his ball handling ability is good and looks like it can become very good. Is still prone to having his pocket picked, but his handles are adept for a SF. Will be able to help a team right away as he is probably more NBA ready than any player in the draft after becoming one of the key players on a Final Four Euroleague team, Benneton Treviso. Has range on his shot. He is the real deal. Not the shooter of Peja, but a more fluid athlete. Weaknesses: Speed running the court is just average, but won't hurt him much because it's not bad. Defense must get better. Must become better at anticipating passes, one on one defense. His report even reads BETTER than Galinari's! maybe Gallilnari will be better than Boki in a year or three . . . but since Boki can be resigned, why not do it and take a different type of player who fills other weaknesses? You're never going to have Gallinari and Boki on the court at the same time, anyway.
Where does it say this: "He had a great workout and almost sure that will be our pick if he is available" No one said he had a great workout. They liked that he competed after turning his ankle. You have a number of fast-rising big men...Koufos, Ajinca, Hibbert.
