And was under a lot worse circumstances, and his PER was lame.

Basically Bron cost his team Game 1 the way Kobe is blamed for #4. Didn't LeBron have the worst 4-game stretch ever in playoff history? Can't help but think of that too.
Lebron kind of struggled against the Celtics as well in the playoffs, am I correct? The Celtic's defense should be given credit

No one impressed me, not Kobe, or anyone.
Meh, Kobe took a not so great team farther than it should have gone. Gasol is an alright 2nd option next to Kobe, he's a little soft, but given how good Kobe is, he's good enough. They'll have Bynum back next year which should help them in the post. It just confirmed my belief that Lamar Odom is what's wrong with this team. They need to trade Odom. I would recommend something like Odom and Mihm for Artest and Miller. Just swapping in Artest for Odom would make this Lakers team so much better.

Someone can get plenty of assists just by having the ball in his hands a lot of the time. If he is not running an effective offense then it is not the number that counts.
Kirk Hinrich dominated the ball the past few seasons for the Bulls. I think he got most of his assists by virtue of having the ball in his hands so much. The team did win 49 a year ago. He was good for 6 APG. To get 10 seems to me is a bit beyond just having the ball so much.
Marbury averaged 7-9 assists per game for quite a few seasons, I wouldn't consider the offense he ran very impressive. Hinrich probably gets those assists a fair amount, and didn't facilitate a good offense.

This series didn't change my opinion of Kobe at all. I still think he is the best player in the game and by a good margin at that. I also still believe that Kobe is a more skilled basketball player than Michael Jordan, for some reason he just can't rise to that extra level of clutchness that MJ rose to seemingly at will. I still cannot believe the final score of that game.
This series only cemented my belief that toooo many ppl overate this guy. top 5-6 all time?? pu-lease!!! he's a very good player, but this guy isn't even top 10 maybe even top 15 all time IMO. and take your PACE huevon and stick it where the sun don't shine, it goes WAY beyond the stats and into intangibles, something the all time greats have in Spades and something Kobe has only a little of.
It doesn't change my perception of him, but I'm glad that it will change most people's. He's the best guard we've seen since MJ and lately I've felt that there's been this attempt to elevate him to that level. We're a bit removed from the days when Jordan dominated so its easy to get caught up in that comparison, but this series showed that Kobe is human and like every other superstar other than MJ, he needs his teammates to step up in order to be successful.
