STICKY THIS: If Kwame is willing to accept the LLE, give it to him. We need big bodies. Ron Artest said that 99% chance he will be a King next year, so don't anticipate getting him. I wouldn't mind a Lamar Odom for a S&T Josh Smith. Similar styles, Smith is younger and more explosive, LO can handle the ball better and is bigger. I wouldn't mind MLE James Posey. Kareem Rush is also a FA this summer, and PJax loves him. I say we make a move for him as well.
You're going to be ripped apart for suggesting Odom for Smith. Atlanta wouldn't consider that, even if Memphis' GM was their GM. Artest will be available. He's worn out his welcome in Sacramento, I expect a healthy dose of Artest/Odom rumors. There are already some rumors swirling that the Lakers have already talked to the Bucks about an Odom/Redd swap. I expect either Vladimir Radmanovic or Luke Walton to be traded. Posey won't leave Boston. Kareem Rush is worthless to us.

I'm all about getting Artest, NOT all about getting rid of LO ESPECIALLY for Redd. We don't need any more scorers on this team, just solid role players. I still love LO's versatility and style, and think it would be a mistake to get rid of him UNLESS we get a Josh Smith caliber player in return. I see Artest being more of a NY kinda guy. We need a PG, cuz Fisher PISSED ME OFF in the finals. He is MUCH better than Rondo IMO, but Rondo was playing him like HE was the vet. Also, Fisher doesn't realize, YOU PLAY DEFENSE WITH YOUR LEGS, NOT YOUR HANDS! Wouldn't mind Jorge Garbajosa or, better yet, Juan Carlos Navarro. I say only get Artest if SacTown is willing to part ways w/ Kenny Thomas as well. To spice that trade up, throw in our 2nd rounder. I would LOVE to get rid of Luke, not so much Vlad. If we could trade Vlad and Luke for a solid role player, that would be GREAT. I say trade them over to Cleveland for Varejao. This way we can rest Bynum/Gasol without any major reprecussions. Mo Evans is a FA AGAIN! We can sign him, and I would love to see him and Ariza play the 2 and 3 spots. What an explosive duo they would make! If we could trade for a 1st rd. pick (somewhere from 15-20) I say DO IT! Next years lineup??? PG Derek Fisher/Juan Carlos Navarro (MLE?)/Jordan Farmar SG Kobe Bryant/Sasha Vujacic SF Ron Artest/Trevor Ariza/Mo Evans (MLE?) PF Pau Gasol/Kenny Thomas/Ronny Turiaf C Andrew Bynum/Anderson Varejao/Kwame Brown (LLE) BEG Chris Mihm not to return.
WAIT so the deal is LO+Mihm for Redd+8th pick???? Doesn't make sense AT ALL on Milwaukee's view. But, if they insist, DO IT LA, DON'T EVEN THINK TWICE! And hope Bayless or Mayo end up at #8.........but this is a pipe dream, not happening.
Who would the Lakers have to trade in for Ron Artest? I say Luke Walton. Personally, I don't see Artest as a good shooter. (3-pointer) But instead a tough guy for defense. And that's what the Lakers need right?

If you think about it, Kobe is an excellent defender, Fisher is a good defender (just not against Boston), Odom is a pretty good defender, and even Vlad Rad is decent at defense, but they can't rebound, and they can't avoid penetration. I'm looking for bigger guys like Varejao, and yes, Ron Artests as well.
Whats up with these michael redd rumors, if they're true, i would do it in a heart beat, he is a proven shooter and if we could get rid of luke and/or vlady that would be great also because they lack any defensive qualities and they're streaky shooters, and go after josh smith if possible cuz he can basically do the same thing as lamar with the ball-handling skills, but he's more explosive and we need someone like that, to make the fans jump with a crazy dunk every game, that would be great, and btw forget rush, we dont need him, he's just another shooter
I like Gerald Wallace but he scares me

He has a reckless style of play, and I see him as an injury ready to happen (sort of like Trevor Ariza). Concussions are no joke either, a couple more hits to the head and may have to call it a career. Given our medical staff's track record, I wouldn't trust them at all with these head injuries
On the radio, they were talking about how Sasha played himself out of being a Laker. They were speculating that a team like the Knicks may offer Sasha the full MLE and L.A. simply can't match it, if they want to keep other people around. They were stating that Walton and Vlad are going to be impossible to move because they don't have any market value and their contracts are toxic.
I don't think Sasha would mind taking a little paycut in order to compete for a championship. He seems like a winner to me. He tasted what the Finals was like, and I doubt he goes somewhere like New York where he basically has no chance of even making the playoffs. I don't know if you watched his interview after the game, but was really dissapointed, and stated that he would lock himself up in the gym the entire summer. He seems like a detirmined man to me. Personally, I think he will return next season. Not too sure about Ronny though (not that he would be a big loss) ouch
Radmonavich to the sixers for Reggie Evans. That would be a great trade for the lakers and the sixers are looking for a shooter.
Here's a list of players I wouldn't mind pursuing in no particular order. Odom straight up for Shawn Marion Ron Artest for the MLE Odom straight up for Baron Davis Ryan Gomes Antonio McDyess Kurt Thomas Bonzi Wells Shane Battier Andres Nocioni Ime Udoka Travis Outlaw Kelenna Azubuike Chuck Hayes

I'll try to dig the article up. Shane's also having some surgery this summer. I'm not sure he fits Adelman's system.
QUOTE

The Houston Rockets intend to contact the Seattle SuperSonics to discuss a potential sign-and-trade deal for free-agent forward Rashard Lewis. The Rockets will offer forward Shane Battier and their No. 1 draft pick, 26th overall, in an attempt to lure Lewis home to Houston. The Sonics say they want to re-sign Lewis, a one-time All-Star who has opted out of his contract, and they have the negotiating leverage to convince him to stay because they can offer a longer-term contract than any other suitor. But the Rockets are hoping that they can cajole Lewis to leave the only NBA team he has played for with the enticement of being close to family and friends. Hall of Famer Clyde Drexler, who works as a television analyst for the Rockets, has told team officials he has breakfast daily with Lewis and that he thinks he can help persuade the player to join a Rockets organization that passed on Lewis three times in the first round of the 1998 draft.
Source The original article is out dated from the Newstribune, but this blog swiped that quote I posted above.
