<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Arsenal have won the race to sign France midfielder Samir Nasri from Marseille, BBC Sport understands. The 20-year-old, who has been dubbed the new Zinedine Zidane, has reportedly agreed a four-year contract and will join after Euro 2008. Nasri, who has made two appearances at this summer's European Championship, has spent the last four seasons with the French side. He came to prominence in France's U-17 European Championship side in 2004. The 20-year-old is believed to have a £13.5m buy-out clause in his contract. Nasri joined Marseille as a nine-year-old and made his league debut during the 2004-2005 season. Last season, Nasri, who can play on either wing, won the French first division's young player of the year crown and was voted Marseille's player of the year by fans. This campaign he scored six goals in 30 games for the French outfit with the final strike in his tally coming in the 4-3 win over Strasbourg last weekend that helped secure Marseille's berth in next season's Champions League. Nasri had appeared at various youth international levels for France before winning the first of seven senior caps in 2007, though he only came on as a substitute as Les Bleus exited Euro 2008. The BBC's Football Correspondent Jonathan Legard said: "Arsene Wenger had hoped to complete the deal before Euro 2008 but now the official announcement will come after the tournament. "He could be a replacement for Alexander Hleb whose future remains the subject of speculation."</div> [Source] I AM SO HAPPY!
EDIT Ok, Samir Nasri, the link didn't work at first. Not surprising, he wanted to go to a club where he fealt he can fit in along with fellow countrymen. What other place is better for that? Arsenal is nearly a French team these days. lol Great signing, congrats to the club!
It is amazing. Arsenal are the only big club in Britain I enjoy watching, so this only adds to my excitement. They have some of my favorite players and the top manager in football in my honest opinion.
I'm glad you think that. The only reason I am surprised is because I was sure our bid was going to get hijacked by some Italian or Spanish club. I wonder who Wenger will scout out next. I hope he isn't done. Plus, it's a four year contract, so we have him for a while now!
If you're not familiar with those players, I'll give you some quick info. Daniel Congre is a central defender that can play decently as a right back. He's nearly 6'3," but he will likely be utilized as a player that covers gaps in the defense since he's fairly quick and had good vision. He's 23 years old. Blaise Matuidi should replace Flamini as defensive midfielder for Arsenal. The guy is rather short like Payet, but he's so intelligent and strong or his size. If I had to say only one of these players will be signed by Arsenal this summer, it will be Matuidi. Note that he's only 21 years old. Dimitri Payet would be the best signing for Arsenal. He's 21 years old and can play several positions from forward to midfield. He would be a great replacement for Hleb if he were to leave. Pairing him with Nasri at their peaks would be extremely dangerous for opposition. Note thay Payet was born in Reunion, but plays for France.
Okay, gotcha. Do you think he would really buy Daniel Congré? Isn't the RB position already filled by Sagna and Eboue? I'll Youtube both Payet and Matuidi and see what comes up. Thanks.
Well that's the thing, he's a better central defender, so I don't think Arsenal would use him at RB. Youtube him as well.

Okay, will do. Demetris Christofi, Aaron Spear, Raul Albiol, Gökhan Inler, and Semih Kaya or some other rumors.

Nice nice. I am looking forward to the real transfers now! The summer Transfer Window is actually one of my favorite parts of the season.
