Just more proof that the Eurostash approach isn't as secure as it once used to be.

Well, since they can sign contracts for more money in Europe than they could in USA at the rookie scale.. it's quite understandable, that they don't come over.

They can also live in europe this way.
And being a professional bball player is much better in Europe than in the USA. less travelling, less games, more time with your family, more beautiful cities...

Some European clubs already pay Knicks-like yearly salaries...

You don't pass on that, to move away from your friends, play abroad, for less money, and maybe just sit on the bench...
Spain is beutiful, and has good weather conditions anyway [IMG]

Not sure why Danilo wants to come over though... For at least 3-4 years (rookie contract), he will earn about half of what he could earn at home...
And Italy is not a bad place either...

Ha! Thank god we didn't pick him..

Wow, since when does shit like this happen to the Spurs? That's pretty cool. Although, it is also possible that he's gonna pull a Scola/Oberto, and come over when he's 28ish

So, what are the larger implications of this from an NBA/CBA perspective? Are we starting to see the dangerous implications of a set rookie pay scale?

It's clearly not in the best interests of the NBA to consistently lose talented European players to European clubs. How is the NBA going to handle this, or is it even an issue on their radar?
