Look, the Nets won't deal Harris or Vince. Starting with those two pieces, how do you best build a winning team? How important is RJ in that formula? The best approach may be to deal RJ for Brand . . . but that will hinge on Brand opting out; Brand not wanting to return to the Clippers; and Brand recognizing that there isn't a team that can afford to pay him without pulling off a S&T. If the Nets could toss in Marcus (for salary?) and get back the #7 pick, all the better! You may then be able to deal the #7, #10, and #21 for the #3 or something like that, if you want to.
I personally think that RJ will rebound. But I am be wrong. There's a question though. Are we trying to build a winning team or are they trying to make a legitimate franchise, hoping to sign LeBron in the 2010 off-season? Having Harris/Carter/Brand would eat at least $40-42M. Signing LeBron for around $20M/year seems impossible.

The theory behind trading RJ is simple. He's tough to move now and he's only gonna get harder to trade as the years go on. Whatever we have to do to get his contract off the books must be done. It is nothing personal towards him whatsoever.

IMO if he isnt traded ala Kidd before 2010, he is trade bait for S&T to get lebron the max only to be let go for cap purposes the next year. People shouldnt expect a Harris/VC/Lebron type team. That would be terrible. We would need a younger, cheaper Allen type spotup shooting SG then a VC type SG.

All Nets fans think you are the tits! </div> Yes, I love the way he yells at his teammates during timeouts. Of course, that's partly the coach's fault for letting him get away with it. However, there's no one to blame for the way he looks at the bench, rolls his eyes, and shakes his head derisively while jogging back on defense after a teammate commits a turnover--completely showing him up. I can't wait to cheer for this guy.
I agree Dumpy, but I still hope for him to mature a bit. I fear that a market such as Brooklyn could just make him more arrogant, however.
look, if he lebron had teammates that actually did things for him... he would be like that... put him here with a harris and possibly a brand and hes whole attitude will change (hopefully) well kobe does the same... all the superstars do... did you not see wade this season with ricky davis? he would constantly shake his head and play so lazy when davis did his antics

If he gets visibly frustrated, it's called being human. What other team in history has asked a guy his age to do so much? He doesn't know how to be a leader. He's a child. He's also the best player in the league and he's years away from his prime.
