<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>France and Bayern Munich midfielder Franck Ribery will miss the start of the Bundesliga season after undergoing surgery on torn ankle ligaments. The 25-year-old fell awkwardly during Tuesday's 2-0 defeat to Italy that saw France crash out of Euro 2008. It was initially feared he had broken his leg, but subsequent scans revealed ligament damage and he faces up to two months on the sidelines. We deeply regret the injury," Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said. But, at the same time, we're happy that the first ominous diagnosis turned out not to be true." The playmaker had been one of France's better performers in what was a terrible tournament for the 2006 World Cup finalists. They drew their opening match with Romania and suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat to Holland before losing to Italy on Tuesday.</div> [Source]
Its amazing watching him play, I've seen most of Munich's matches last season, and its crazy how good he is. Hopefully the injury will have no effect on him.
If the injury had not cause him to miss time, the sure-fire big Chelsea would had made for him would had greatly lured him away. I've been reading they were ready to meet his 31M pound asking price. -Petey

Yeah, things are worrying. We'll eventually get bought out. I have no question about that. If it does better for the club, why not?
What a shame to see such a fantastic player out for eight long weeks. He'll miss the beginning of the Bayern campaign next season. In any case, at least he wasn't injured as severely as poor Eduardo.
Yep. Fingers crossed he's back for pre-season! (Eduardo) At least it wasn't Ribery's Achilles as expected - that probably would of been more severe.
