Assuming we keep our picks, name the top 3 choices you would want. And don't say Rose or Beasley because there's no way they're dropping to 10.

    1. Westbrook
    2. Gallinari
    3. Jordan

I'd take Westbrook first because he helps on defense, improves our bench, adds athleticism and improves our backup PG position assuming we move Marcus which I'm in favor of.

    1. Joe Alexander

Jumps out of the gym. To me, seems the most NBA ready out of everyone other than Rose and maybe Beasley. Makes Jefferson or at least Nachbar expandale.

    2. Danilo Gallinari

Shoots the lights out. Actually wants to play for us which is rare especailly since Jason Kidd is gone. Still very young but seems like he has a good basketball knowledge and could help us out more in the future than now.

    3. DeAndre Jordan

Extremely raw but can dunk as people say. One of the youngest in the drafts, he is pure potential and at the age of 19, worth the risk. Aggies fan as well so rooting for him over the others.

    1. Gordon IF POSSIBLE BUT PROBABLY UNREALISTIC
    1. Joe Alexander

HIGHLY ATHLETIC... would compliment Frank's desire to run more well, highly motivated, mental toughness, and hard worker.

    2. Russel Westbrook

A combo guard that can score and play defense... something we've always needed to backup Carter and our starting PG.

    3. Danillo Galinari

Seems like a really solid player, I wish he actually tried out against other players so we can see how he is versus other draftee's so we can compare him. I see him as a risk, but one that I'm willing to take.

I'm not a fan of Alexander or Jordan. Joe is a workout warrior. There are always a few guys who you don't pay attention to but come draft time they move up the rankings until someone in the lottery is taking them. Most of these guys turn out to be busts.
Jordan is just a dunker. He's not even that athletic. People compare him to Dwight Howard. Who are they kidding? Howard was a progeny as a 18 year old and a unanimous Top 2 pick.

    I'd take.. Westbrook / Lopez / Gallinari

I believe that a young big that is not clearly the best player on the board has a high liklihood of being a bust. The analysis on draftexpress today supprts that. Thus, I would be hesitant to take a big with the #10 pick. I also believe that you can find a role-player big in the second half of the first round that could be a capable contributor, although may not have the same amount of "upside," such as Josh Boone. So, I'd consider taking a big with the #21 pick. Finally, I believe that you shouldn't take two players that share the same position and thus would compete with each other for playing time. Finally, I note that the Nets have NEVER selected a college freshman, although that could change this year given the youth of the draft and Kiki's influence

    So:

#10 pick: Westbrook, Gallinari [a. get those suspect bigs out of here; b. I don't want a guy who has athleticism and nothing else like Alexander]

#21 pick: Speights, Hibbert, Ajinca, or Hickson would all be fine picks here. Hibbert could probably have the biggest impact immediately, so depending how he compares to the others I might lean towards him. [Brandon Rush, CDR, or Lee will probably get some support, but I'm taking a guy at #10 who could conflict with playing time, and I am also going to target a SG/SF at #40.]

#40 pick: Bill Walker or JR Giddens. Or, Kyle Weaver if they are gone. [Giddens is very fascinating, and has fallen because of his history and because he is a senior. Fallen angel . . . indeed]

I'd say so but Sean also stayed in college longer.
