Pistons' small forward Tayshaun Prince has reportedly been placed on the trade market by executive Joe Dumars, according to The Detroit Free Press.

The rumor initially surfaced in a piece by Chad Ford of ESPN.com.

There are a handful of small forwards that are believed to be on the market including Richard Jefferson (New Jersey), Josh Howard (Dallas), Gerald Wallace (Charlotte), and Prince

What u guys think of that??

So there is a possibility to get, RJ,Prnice and artest, who would u take first or better who would be the best fit for LA??

Artest hands down... we need his toughness... but Prince wouldnt be so bad either... Both Prince and Artest are making 8M a year so that means we'll get them plus some scrubs if we give up odom. No way in hell should we go after RJ and his contract, and i'd still rather have Odom than a 60 - 70 game per season player in Wallace.

Artest would be a perfect fit with our frontcourt, better than Odom. We don't really need Odom's versatility as much with the Twin Tower effect, and Artest is also a VERY underrated shooter.

Also, you can put Shawn Marion in that equation. After a dismal season, Miami is looking to move, and the front office in Miami absolutely love LO's game. We could get Marion for LO+Mihm.

Although it is improbable that they would accept, I would like the Lakers to at least ATTEMPT to reel in Battier for LO. He sometimes looked lost in the Houston offense, and I think he could excel next to TMac and Yao as that third option.

I'm a big fan of Wallace. The guy can flat-out score and play defense, both things that would help the Lakers. He plays SG and SF, which is also a good fit for the Lakers once Bynum comes back:

    Fisher/Kobe
    Bynum
    Gasol/Wallace

    Nice lineup.

I LOVE Wallace, ever since his days in Sacramento, but we can't afford to take him. WAY too risky, he's constantly injured. Artest or Marion are our best bets IMO.

Prince is the best bet out of all of them. Artest may have been a better defensive player 2 years ago, but today it is questionable. Prince has also played his whole career as the third/fourth option on offense and would not cry "I want more touches" like Artest has been for the past 10 years.

I agree with you on artest... but not with marion, he will be more expensive and isnt really that effective without a nash/paul type player on the team. Im ok with Battier but he is more of a poor man's artest

Ron Artest knows that he won't be able to get too much money from a contending team this summer, but is hopeful that he'll cash in next year after the Kings have a big season, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.

"Next summer can be a bigger [free-agent] summer for me if the Kings win big," Artest said, "which is … anything else is a failure."

He's also aware that the Kings are likely to get multiple trade offers as next season's deadline approaches, if he decides to play out the final year of his contract in Sacramento.

Artest has only a few days left to make a firm decision on whether or not he will opt out and become a free agent next month.

I don't like a Prince for Odom trade. Though Prince does bring defensive toughness, I think we are losing a lot more than gaining by trading for him (unless we get Stuckey in the deal, which isn't gonna happen).

Artest, Marion, or Battier. Those should be THE ONLY three players we should be considering for Odom.

I'd love to get a guy like Prince. He brings great defensive toughness and he's a solid scorer/shooter. Personally, I'd take him over Artest. He's never really had any issues the way Artest has, and he wouldn't expect to get the ball nearly as much as Artest would. I personally think he's a much better fit.

Tayshaun Prince would be a fantastic piece to add, but we have nothing Dumars would be interested in. The Pistons are after Carmelo Anthony and Prince would likely be one of the players traded to acquire Melo.
