which means a survey of NBA GM's leads the league to believe he will be picked in the lottery or very shortly after. Only 15 guys get invites to sit up front.

He's the big surprise, could go as high as #10, says Draft Express. Speights, McGee will not be there.

That's a damn shame. This draft is so weak, it's not even crazy to say he's one of the top 15. Also with his brother being a lottery pick, I can't see them inviting one but not the other.

"Lopez has an excellent chance to be picked at #15 by the Suns, and if not will almost certainly be taken 17th by Toronto. Every NBA person we’ve spoken with has him slotted at either of those two picks."

so don't start freaking out people.

I'm not so sure. The NBA always needs somebody who will slip fairly far so they can film them suffering for as long as possbile. Could he be the one this year?

Part of that may be for the twin jokes and publicity.

Regardless he seems to have done well for himself in workouts.

But our management is too smart to take another big w/o any offensive skills. Robins best case scenario is Desagna Diop.

    Brookes ceiling is Ilgasukas

I'm not freaking people out. Draft Express has reported he could go to the Nets at #10, as well you know.

And here's the point: NBA GM's believe he is lottery material. How could it possibly be that their opinion on a player's NBA readiness would be more relevant than a group of anonymous fans on a message board?

Get real. It's possible. He hasn't worked out for anyone since the Nets on June 12, claiming a sprained ankle, and yet, he has been invited to the Green Room, reserved for the top 15 picks.

I assume that's a joke. Last year, Nick Young was the long-suffering last man in the Green Room. He was taken at #16.

I think it's the Twin angle. Having them both sitting at a table waiting to hear their names called. It's a nice move by the NBA. I think 10 is way high for Robin but he's not gonna be around long after that so the invite makes sense. I still think there's a good chance we trade down for him and if we can shed some salary in the process I won't be too mad at that move.

It is so he can sit with his family during the draft.

The NBA isn't going to be like, Brook, here sit at this table with your mom and dad, and your grandma and grandpa...oh yeah, Robin, go sit in the stands if you want to come...or stay at home and watch the draft with your family...oh yeah....scratch that.

Even if he was projected to go in the 2nd round, he'd be in the green room.

They probably invited him so its not awkward when he shows up with his brother. The guy is going to be there anyway.

I was watching an ESPN draft special (don't ask why, I still don't know), and Tim Legler was talking about Robin. He said that for some reason, Robin had more potential than Brook.

    I immediately changed it.

I hope you've learned a lesson here, I sure have.

Who Andy Katz thinks will go last on that board (Jordan)...and who will go last among the rumored lottery picks (Greene or McGee)

I would have no problem with Robin Lopez. The Nets lacked toughness underneath last season, particularly after we lost that Twin from Stanford.

I think we've got a bigger need for someone like Randolph or Greene than we do Robin. Ok Robin could be of some value in the league, but it sounds like this role would be that of Jason Collins. Now don't get me wrong, I appreciated the role that JC had on this team and I acknowledged his impact, but I'd rather grab a 6'10 SF since we could hold on to our current bigs (and/or take a good one with 21!). I'd rather grab someone to replace Boki

Does Robin have the set shot Collins had? If he does, and plays defense anything like him, I wouldn't mind taking him at 21 (if rush, CDR, Jordan and a huge list of other players aren't available).

Well yeah except there are rumors that we're taking him with 10!
